It is pretty strange that they'd take the time to model the sex parts in such detail. I don't think I've ever seen that in a normal game like this before. It seems like an inside joke at Ubi that they didn't think would get out but did. Less worried about the parts (it is mature rated) than something this blatant being missed in testing, along with the seamless mp being broken on launch. The game looks ok from what I've seen, just a little leery of bugs since it's ...

Lots if not all studios look at the art/modeling/textures/animatio n/code they create as assets and re-use things like that all the time. It's part of the trade-off in having better quality games. If they had to do everything from scratch every time, games simply wouldn't have the detail they have today. It's what started using standard graphics engines across games like Frostbite and the Unreal Engine. Movie studios have done it with props and sets to save money since they s...

So much dilution though. There are 10,000 new mobile games a day it seems like. And I don't know how any of them make any money for that reason. With so many free-to-play mobile games there's no sense at all in paying for them. I don't play many mobile games, but the ones I do are only games that are playable without paying. If they want to have pay shortcuts that I can instead grind for free in a reasonable (this is key - it has to be reasonable) amount of time, then I'l...

Probably the best point, very tough to do any sort of comparison when Scorpio is far off and could change by then. We'll start to see when we get hands-on with PS Pro. In the end it's all about adoption rate and devs deciding it's worthwhile to put resources into making Pro/Scorpio exclusive and/or enhanced games. And that's always a chicken and egg scenario, since devs are not going to pour a lot of $ into Pro/Scorpio games until there is a large base with them, and the ba...

From what I've seen, it's more about the fact that a number of big game releases this year have been disappointing rather than WD2 being special. Even then, what I've seen of WD2 would still fall short of games like Dark Souls 3, etc. from this year.

The problem is that generally across the industry, the pattern we've seen is that when companies hold NDA until release and don't allow early reviews, it's usually because they know the game is going to disappoint (Mafia 3 as the most recent example of this). Bethesda games are usually very good, and Dishonored 2 looks excellent. But if they're going to take this approach then I'll happily do the same and wait until after release and thorough reviews. As it is the DIsho...

Not too surprising with the S launched not long back and heavily marketed. The more important figures though would be the actual sales numbers, not just "outsold". If few people are buying consoles and this is saying xbox only sold 100 and ps sold 75 units, it's kind of irrelevant that it's more. I don't really see masses of new people buying consoles right now in the lifecycle. They'd either already have an XB1 and/or PS4, or they'd be waiting for the Pro or...

Reviews on this one have been pretty consistent across the board from all sources. Muddy, low-texture, quite outdated (like 5 years old looking) graphics, poor optimization on PC, and repetitive gameplay. The pluses are a nice soundtrack and kind of a budget GTA feel for gameplay. But 5/10 roughly is about right, if not generous at $60.

Beyond demo'd out with Star Citizen. Don't care and gave up on this ages ago. The lesson learned from SC is that even with a near unlimited budget it's still possible to bite off more than you can chew as a developer. The project creep in SC is something that would make a PM's head explode, and is what (at least so far) appears to have doomed it.

The graphics complaints really aren't exaggerated, it's seriously on-par graphically with GTA 4 from 2008. The textures are way basic and low-res for a 2016 game. If someone showed it to me and I didn't know what it was I'd probably guess it was an early to mid Xbox 360 game.

Gameplay-wise, it's repetitive but not bad. It feels like a budget GTA 5 clone just on gameplay. It's no where near GTA 5 in gameplay, but you can tell they heavily borrowed...

Not from what I saw of it so far. Don't go off canned trailers with this one, wait to see the actual real gameplay. It looked much more linear and not really open world from what I saw, and AI was very poor. It may end up being good in the end like RB6: Siege, but I'd be really wary of pre-ordering this one or calling it the game to beat (and even more questionable that it's really open-world). Not exactly open-world if you have to go A->B->C.

Yep, not sure how this is news. This method has been well known for over a year.

When they do it I'd like to see them really get the movement and controls proper and tight this time. I've loved the AC series, but all of them in different degrees have been a little wonky when it comes to movement. Either slightly delayed, or too much automatic assumption of where the game thinks you're going. So you walk on a ledge that has a ladder and it will automatically start climbing it when you're just trying to walk past it, that kind of thing. If they could rea...

Too little, too late, I'm afraid. Plus these "big changes" are more like just shifting to a Destiny-style gear system. It's one step, but sooo many people have left and aren't coming back. The DLC would have to be much better with far deeper stories added with each expansion, fixing the issues from the exploiters/glitchers, fixing the Dark Zone to be fun again for all of new/veteran/undergeared/overge ared players, etc. I just don't see this change they mentioned...

It was...ok. Super-casual shooter imo, even moreso than Battlefront. At times it was so silly it felt almost like Team Fortress 2. There were a few hey this is cool moments. But it's miles...many miles, from BF4 and even further from BF3 or BF2. Amazingly, EA repeated the mistake of Battlefront of making a shooter where there is little to no overall strategy. That's what made BF2 and to a lesser degree 3+4 fun. Working together as a squad on objectives in creative ways, not jus...

Kind of apples and oranges to compare the two. Star Citizen has raised an insane $113M for development. They are also really completely different game types, with NMS focusing on generated content vs. Star Citizen being more of a pre-planned. And btw, what I've tried of Star Citizen has been buggy early-alpha quality and always incomplete/early-access garbage that's not even worth installing. That's something that's near-criminal considering how much they've raised fro...

It's pretty common for games to take 3-4 years for development now, and some far longer. The Division had a $50M budget and had 4 studios working on it (so far more than this), was announced at 2013 E3 and didn't even come out until 2016. Dozens of examples around like that, look at Cyberpunk 2077 has been in the works since 2012 again with a bigger team and it isn't close. The Kickstarter situation in this case probably just adds more time on top of that.

It's really not much of a secret that AMD is supplying the custom soc for both the Neo and Scorpio. It's also a fairly safe assumption that both will be based on the relatively cheap Polaris 10 gpu (the basis for the $199 AMD RX 480 which comes out conveniently in 3 days) , which clocks in at guess what...5.5 tflops. Such a coincidence huh? Being custom they can be tweaked somewhat, but at the core they will be the Polaris 10. It's a great fit for both consoles in terms of per...

Huh, most have agreed Microsoft had an awful conference and that Sony demolished. What new games did Microsoft announce to convince anyone otherwise? No VR. No big surprise announcement Just Scorpio in coming in 18 months which we all knew was coming going in. And with all exclusives being Win10 now, it's decreasing the need for Xbox at all anyway. Showing Recore again and a Forza offshoot? Halo Wars 2 (lol). Not to mention some titles XB1 announced at prior E3s have been cancelled ...

I agree, my tv+ps4 with DL doesn't look anywhere that muddy either. I wonder if some filtering was done or maybe there was an issue in the output in this test. It's not as good as the E3 version, but closer to mid-way between these 2 examples.
