OK WAIT.... I thought DRM in gaming was the inevitable future?!?! LOL

Definitely not buying an Xbox One over PS4, but I was hopeful that MS would come out with something strong... I wanted to like the next Xbox, but they made it really easy to hate.

The policy changes definitely make me interested in buying one again. But first things first.... PS4 already paid for. If MS holds true to these changes, I will probably pick up XB1 in 2014.

I don't know why people pay attention to Pachter. The week before E3, he said PS4 would be $350 and XB1 $400. Then he called PS4's $400 price "genius."

Awesome for Sony if true, but I'm not exactly putting stock into what this guy says.

PSN store isn't region locked.

As opposed to Xbox One: lol buy an Xbox 360 if you don't have internet?

@chcolatesnw
Wow dude, could you be any more of a dick? No, not everyone can afford to spend more than $400-500 on an entertainment device. Ridiculing people for it is pretty sad. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have disposable income.

Not really.

Sony is operating like people have a choice. Microsoft is operating like people don't.

You are going to be very disappointed if you think you can share all your games and DLC on XB1 with ten different XB1 units. You seriously think MS is letting you share all of your purchased content with any ten people you want and it's theirs to keep? It's not even YOURS to keep!

I'm no fanboy at all, but I think you're the blind one. MS is the only console doing DRM. Well, maybe Steam Box just because Steam has DRM. Sony isn't doing it and they've left it up to 3rd party publishers if they want to do it in their games, but none of them will. Sony killed online passes. I don't know why any company would want to risk taking the DRM hit with their games on PS4 when sales are hard enough to count on. They don't HAVE to do it on PS4 just beca...

SMH.

DRM is not the inevitable future of gaming and the fact that you laugh at people who disagree is pathetic. The gaming industry will crash again before that happens. When at least 80% of the core gaming market wants nothing to do with Microsoft's DRM and restrictive policies, that should tell you all you need to know. The core market is the people who do the heavy lifting, supporting a console until it blossoms. Wii is the exception.

See, what you...

Um, no.

If you want an Xbox One, that's fine. Go waste your money if you want, no one is stopping you. You don't have to justify all the bs policies like DRM by trying to say "EVERYONE WILL DO IT EVENTUALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11!1! !" No, everyone will not do it eventually.

Some developers are very much against it and companies such as CD Projekt RED have made it known that they feel DRM is the worst idea ever in gaming. EA has called DRM a fa...

This whole thing has been ridiculous. DRM is only a discussion because of the assumption that everyone has to follow Microsoft, who finished this generation in THIRD PLACE. Nintendo gave the whole DRM thing the finger. Sony pretty much did. Then there's Microsoft, with their anti-consumer garbage console that so many people for some reason think everyone else must follow. Ehhhhhhhh wrong.

@Mystogan
Really? I must have missed that, because I just read that MS isn't changing their XBLA policy at all. They can swear up and down that they love indies, but until they mirror Steam and Sony's open policies nobody cares what they say.

Everyone defending the Xbox One keeps saying these indie games are crappy and no one cares and they won't sell any systems.

Same here, but I didn't reserve any games yet.

Been gaming hard since NES and this will be my first launch day pickup as well. Bought a Dreamcast maybe a month after it came out... everything else I've waited on. Never been more excited for a console than I am with PS4. This will be a great generation I think.

Reserve it for the full game. The PS Plus version will be missing some unknown number of cars/tracks.

It looks like an eraser because its erasing Xbox One.

How does it feel now that you're on the other side of the spectrum? Plenty of 360 gamers jumping ship to PS4... it's not bias or wizardry lol, it's reality. But you can stay blindly loyal and feel the same scrutiny from others that you probably dished out to PS3 supporters.

I did read it. You have poor reading comprehension. He did say that, but it was in reference to that attitude being why the games industry is not growing.

Part of the problem with E3 and the industry, Molyneux believes, is that developers and publishers are repeatedly targeting the same audience. The business will never grow with that approach.

I disagree with his assertion that appealing to your core audience to launch a new console is somehow a bad thing. Those are the people who pay attention and will be buying the damn thing. That was Microsoft's very first mistake... appealing to people with the unveil who won't be buying an Xbox One for probably 2 or 3 more years at least. Hell, there are CORE gamers who won't be buying a PS4 OR Xbox One for that long.

Very strange things going on with the guys ...
