Not to mention the fact that they still tank their own platform because 0% proceeds go to them when you make a Windows game unless it comes with that draconian GFW DRM.
It's only about greed, no one is that coy. Third parties love XBL because Microsoft pays them off. MS severely pissed off everyone who plays Skyrim on PC, you think that PC gamers want to fork over cash to pay for a shitty (no offense) 6-year old platform with a $50/yearly online fee when they have the gol...
Remember when you played GTAIV and that first kill made you feel bad deep down inside? GTAIV couldn't keep up that emotional facade, but The Last of Us does with simple gameplay footage.
The bokeh blur and dof in the gameplay would be very hard to do on current gen consoles, so I was already assuming this was a game for the next gen consoles, otherwise it'll run worse than Crysis 2 on current gen consoles.
They waited until the last minute on next generation hardware. That's mind-numbingly dumb. They're not going to get the up on 360 if they're going head to head next year. I knew they weren't going to announce anything spectacular and play it safe--the fact that they followed through on that shows me Sony doesn't care enough to keep it's brand afloat and take the first step.
Without the jump on Microsoft, you think people in the US are really going to t...
Everyone's tired of this gen. We know the boundaries, and it's apparent when the industry is advertising games using Nvidia's latest 600 series GPUs to show off games like Medal of Honor: Warfighter and FarCry 3. Remember when the Assassin's Creed 3 footage came on during the Ubi conference and it slowed down? That's because it was played on a console that was made almost 6 years ago. Yeah, The Last of Us, Halo 4, and Beyond look incredible. They also all look like they ru...
They make great games and provide great source material. Can you tell me that you weren't one of the millions that clocked in 75+ hours playing Skyrim? On Steam, over ten million people play Skyrim, and the average playthrough is 75 hours of game-time. Okay, so tell me, if that wasn't a good game, what is a better sandbox game by comparison? Skyrim is a great game, if not the best to hit this gen, and disagreeing with that is just pathetic.
I'm going to get flack ...
You didn't read the article. Dumbass.
It's not that great. You guys convinced me to buy into this crap, and it's spreading like a virus all over N4G. Stop fanboying games unless they really deserve it.
Your name certainly supports your claim lol
It's not that great... thanks people defending crap... I'm returning it saying it's broken...
Are people just fanboys? I mean I loved Resistance:FOM, but Resistance 2 sucked by comparison. They fixed those problems in Resistance 3, but remember--Insomniac didn't have anything to do with Burning Skies. I've even said in the past Burning Skies looks lackluster (with plenty of hate of course) but we really need to let the franchise go. Resistance died with Nathan Hale.
Crysis 2 is one. Skyrim used to be if you play on PS3 around launch. GTAIV has a ton of framerate drops most of the time. Most games in the last two years run at 27-29FPS around 600-700p, NOT 720p, with the exception of games like Black Ops 2 running around 40FPS and Modern Warfare 3 at 57-59FPS--and even then they both run at 600p. 60FPS games just don't happen like they used to.
And @ this article:
Most TVs get around 60Hz though, I don't know what ...
According to that disagree, I don't want the game anymore.
@omi25p: it's actually pretty awesome. I have a full ride scholarship to the best art & design school in the world. I just got a paid internship that pays 4 times minimum wage for the summer. So why am I commenting here? To gloat! xD
@YodaCracker: Skyrim is actually about 6GBs on PC just because of textures, and 9GBs if you get the high res texture pack, but yes, you're right, Skyrim fits on one disc on the 360.
The difference is that Skyrim has f...
Thank you for proving me wrong. Multiplayer framerate is still dipping a lot, but that single player footage is spot on silky smooth. Dammit I want it now.
Screenshots look gorgeous but they don't reflect gameplay. The frame-rate on this game is atrocious, they better have a fix for that.

Let me guess... 27? Oh, silly me, that's an exaggeration. 48, most definitely.
I know. I want my real time combat RPG fix NAOOWW.
...or they could just do KH3 and save us all the trouble. I'm tired of waiting Square, give me my fancy real-time combat RPG now.
Console limitations are pretty huge when you have to develop a cross-platform title. Due to demand and cost of development, it's impossible to code a game for both consoles that hits the quality barrier of an exclusive game because of all differences in hardware.
Consoles are really out of date though, you should know that the Xbox 360 is 6 years old and the PS3 is 5 years old. CryEngine and Frostbite don't run at even medium quality on consoles, they have to be heavi...
