As much as I hate to say it, let Duke rest. I have very fond memories of Duke 3D. I believe the last media we had from them was the producer (I could be wrong) saying they'll release it and people will complain its not good enough. I don't think they can win--take the tax write-off and move on. gCM
M$ should post up some pics for sale--they'd sell.
$40 for a movie?!?!?! I seriously doubt the market will support that as there isn't real demand (yet) for either format. I just don't see it when current format is sufficient. gCM
Your numbers said it all - from a business perspective, it makes NO sense. And they obviously have considerable experience with the 360, adding even more weight to the argument against it. gCM
This and Gears will keep me up late for many nights... If GameStop has a midnight release, I'll be there..

While they weren't born yesterday, they are still patching Windows like they're trying to bail water. You have to admit the addition of the PC side will add increased risks and his point is also the added bandwidth used. Personally, I see no need to game on my PC any longer since I've got my lovely 360s (x2). C&C3 is going to rock on my bigscreen, as well as Gears. I like their strategic vision, but Jones comment is valid. It doesn't translate quite as well as an MP3 player, since I'...
I have a hard time believing they'd be that shortsighted to shoot themselves in the XBL foot. If the mag is worth it (I think it is), then folks will subscribe, otherwise they won't-- but that's cutting off your note to spite your face and will backfire from the negative press if it is a trend. I for one, though I've picked up a copy of the mag here and there, WON'T be buying the game without a demo (I've already played it on the PC), and don't intend necessarily to pick this issue of the mag...
My kids play Cloning Clyde, Marble Madness, Frogger and the puzzle games. So I think you mean there aren't a huge # of $60 games available for them-- but there are plenty of $5-10 games which all of them enjoy--they are addicted to Cloning Clyde and argue over who gets to play. My oldest boy (9) plays all the sport games, and I play almost ALL the games. M$ is doing a great job.

Playing on a big screen will be awesome. I agree, I like the Red Alert series better, but will be buying all as soon as they are released. CC3 + Gears will keep me satisfied all year (assuming they release within a year).
gCM
While not for me, if someone wants all that, let'm have it.
For those who feel "cheated" by M$, you got what they promised. There is no "unfair"--you agreed to buy a particular SKU and got it.
The 250GB may well be for a soon-to-be-released DVR functionality.
The HDMI would be nice, but not required. My 60" SONY tv does a good enough job with current hi-def. Now, if I didn't have a 360 yet I'd love to get it with HDMI (ob...
One other thing-- great strategy to push folks toward the competition (either company) if this crap gets out-of-hand. M$ may be testing the waters but will find out they're a little too cold (IMHO). ...And yes, I know the article tried to differentiate the consumable items from levels, but I doubt the consumer really will. gCM
I for one will be voting with my dollars (of lack of spending) on games that require this. Now, let's just hope this virus doesn't infect Gears.. M$, you best not pi$$ off your fanbase with this money-grubbing crap. Too much and you make everyone wonder how many levels REALLY should've shipped with the game. This crap gets too out of hand and I may deliver my 360s to your doorstep with a sledge imprint--and I won't be alone. BE WARNED, M$. gCM
This doesn't even make sense for M$ -- as a recent article explained (sorry, don't have the citation), most cut scene footage is in-game which doesn't require a lot of data (Oblivion)-- M$ would be shooting themselves in the foot. If you're a Sony fanboy, don't bother commenting as it won't be considered as I consider the fanboys not intellectually honest--save your quips for those also with no hair under their arms. For M$ OWNERS, this would make no sense as its not needed and the option o...
Yes, I seem to remember game in the arcades that swallowed my quarters in $10 sessions... Original IP?? Maybe according to the "law", but we know its a rip-off. That said, I bought GW and am glad, but find this plea a little disingenuous. gCM
The controller, while avante garde now, will have limited use in the end, once you get past the light sabre-type use (while cool, yet niche). And if it works, the other two consoles (that are next-gen) could adopt--only problem with that is game co's don't want to write for something not included in the box.
Sorry, Nintendo, but hi-def DOES matter to me. I won't be buying a Wii--my 360 has me in gaming goodness well into next year (Gear og War, Biosphere (or whatever it its called--I'...
I agree with Cerula on the biz reasons. I also like the idea of not revealing "emergence day" early -- I want the initial load-up to blow me away. The press went nuts over the single & multiplayer at E3. I've got to hurry and finish Quake, Doom, Half-Life2 and others before it launches so I can focus on that. Ahh-- too much gaming goodness, not enough time in the day!!! Life is sweet! I feel bad for the PS3 crowd who don't have this yet (the gaming goodness).
That's okay. When you see it in stores and no PS3 to be found, you should go with your instincts and pick up that '360. I'd recommend not even waiting and wasting those months when you could be having gaming goodness right now!!!!
-No co-op is unforgiveable -- that would've been the bomb over XBL!
--They COULD (and SHOULD) patch that to allow multiplayer.
-Some clipping issues (weapons going thru walls)
-VERY fun -- love the gun and knife. The bowling ball is fun, as is the skillet. It just feels so satisfying to see all that gore.
-How much gameplay is there? Will it be more of the same?
--Not EVERYTHING is usable, but just about everything is -- very fun. I've replayed the demo over...
Nuff said-

Unless they're averse to making $$$. gCM
