On my widescreen, its about 1/6 the screen. I need to try the stretch trick, but its not close to the original (which is why we'd buy it--nostalgia).. Oh well, the NCAA demo is NOW ON-LINE!!!! You can play as Florida or Fl. State with 1 min quarters-- seems very Madden-ish, not quite as responsive as the last gen versions, but the animations are sweet -- a definite purchase, already reserved.. gCM
...by then it may be at the $39 price and I'll jump, whether new or used. If I finish early and Gears isn't out yet, I'll pick it up regardless of price. gCM
Sony has bitten it so hard with their missteps that they will not delay past the Nov date, unless they have too many bugs. They will NOT miss the Christmas/holiday season. Only if their only option was to ship bricks would they delay it, even if they lose face with their own "red ring of death". gCM
Title says it all. gCM
Mine no longer locks up, and the homerun derby and play in HD is pretty sweet.
If you look, the other systems have about the same (some have two games), but nothing earth shattering. We know this is a slower time of the year as they all get ready for the holiday season. I will be buying LORBFME2 and laying waste on-line. gCM
I'm still finishing Quake4 & Doom3 (now that its BC!), but this looks pretty sweet--and fairly similar (dark, bio-crap everywhere, metal textures for a lot of the ship). I love the bio-life stuff and the metaphysical portals, etc. The MP is where I saw the first "gravity-switch" and it could be AWESOME!! No one else was on-line playing as of 9pm CST USA--but that will be changed within a few hours--I bet it will rock. As for the stuttering, haven't seen it. If it does, I bet th...
What's he going to say, "I love the 360 more!" when he's developing for the PS3 and has been in bed with them forever? (so to speak--bad picture).
On the other hand, Carmack has been very favorable on the 360 vs. the PS3. In the latest Game Informer, he says there won't be any difference in game quality -- check it out- I can't find it online (even on their site), but its in the latest on-the-street edition. Not surprising, he's said similar (though not as declarativ...
Its a slap in the face to not have the Chromehounds demo--but I ain't complaining the Prey demo came out "early".
I just bought Over-G (first day out)--while I agree M$ has some sweet games (I even like Quake4, particularly the multiplayer), Over-G is a disappointment. That and MLB, I recommend M$ become a little more picky -- I say this as I download the Prey demo!!!!!
I'll have to disagree, unless the killer app does indeed come out for the PS3. As of now, there are no PS3-exclusives that grab me. I love my FPS/Sports/BFME2/etc. titles that come to the 360. And, I just upgraded to a media center so all my digitized videos of my kids stream to my big screen (SONY LCD 60") sweetly. I know there are some who just die for MGS, but I'm not one of them. Then again, I'm not a Halo player (yet) -- GoW will do just nicely until they floor me with Halo3.
I've played many flight sims on the PC, two versions of Ace on the PS2, and was waiting for a killer sim on the 360 (not "too" much of a sim--I have to get my Top Gun fix), and the 8-player on-line was really intriguing.
Unfortunately, the game is a big disappointment. I'll keep it, since I already dropped my $60 on it the first day, but not as good action-wise as Ace. First, the on-line with eight players---once you're out (and all of us were leaving one team as win...
Nuff said.
I must've had my head up my butt, but I missed the no MP -- this is turning into a probable rental if its not in there...
By releasing at the same time as PS3, M$ (who will only get one chance to steal away PS3 folks) is betting that having both GoW and Halo3 on the street at the same time is a powerful motivator to go '360, while blunting the force of GoW. They risk really insulting Epic, because it will put pressure on Epic's sales (some will buy both, indeed probably most). You have to admit, though, that this has got to hit Sony in the gut! Personally, I'm not much of a Halo fan, but will have GoW on day 1--...

I'd jump at it if the price were lower. 1,200 points gives me too much pause. I'll definitely wait.
MAN--- the PS3 fans have to wait FIVE MORE MONTHS until Nov (IF they could get one then) for hi-def next-gen gaming... Meanwhile, I'll be playing Over-G, NCAA, Madden, Gears, LOTRBFME2, etc., and Assassins when it comes out, battling it out on Live (already works, not a "new" network). On Assassins, does anyone else find it curious that what I saw in the trailer appeared to be CGI instead of in-game footage? I'm sure it will rock, but the cool scene of him leaping and sticking the...
I'm not a big RPG fan, but this one sounds good and I may get my kids to play it (no, they aren't allowed to play the shooters yet).
If you don't yet have HD, you're missing out. Sell a kidney, whatever it takes, but once you've seen it, you won't go back. I have a 2nd 360 in the bedroom, non-HD and its painful, yet playable.
