Never played it on the PS2 (owned 2), but will be buying it for the 360.
Awesome news!

I'd buy Ace quickly--it was good on the PS2 and I bet it would be great with the 360s horsepower. gCM

With piracy and development costs, the PC isn't a big sell for developers, regardless of what Bill Gates wants everyone to believe-- the only saving grace is an easier port from the 360.

Since I've picked up my 360, I refuse to upgrade my video card or deal with the multitude of compatibility issues with Windows gaming. While there are the hardcore PC gamers out there, I think they will pale in comparison to console owners who just want the game to work (ME) on my big screen hi...

Its a business decision, not a "screw you guys" decision. They've made it compatible with the most popular (somewhat subjective), and still will through 2007. At some point, they have to stop spending $$$ on making the emulator changes to focus on other areas. The most recent data (on-line games) showed most other games (emulated) weren't being played beyond Halo2. There will always be some game not compatible that someone wants (I want Taito Legends for Elevator Action, as sad ...

Between my nephew and I, we play Gears about 16 hrs/week. My kids play Lego Star Wars. I take my son to the hoop with either NBA Street Homecourt or NBA Live 06. gCM

First, I'm a M$ fan (3 360's in the house) who was going to wait for the PS3 until they pushed it back their final time. That being said, I don't like how he didn't mention any sources of these development houses.

"They are faced with optimistically twice the cost to write a game for the PS3 as the 360 and only a fifth the market to sell it in to."

Twice the cost? How so? Source? As a computer scientist and from articles I've read, I understand the 360...

While I don't doubt your post, I find it surprising (though not totally out there) that he's not interested in Call of Duty, Madden or other sports games in hi-def on either of the consoles. The graphics on the Wii are a non-starter for me, and I predict the controller ends up the novelty/gimmick it seems. It could be he doesn't have a hi-def tv or any plans to purchase--at that point the graphic question is almost moot. That said, I can see a lot of families with non-gamers getting the Wii...

Tell me, what exactly did you find incorrect about his statements? Please paste in specifics from the article... Could it be the part about no games looking "better" on a PS3? With the sales in units the 360 has, a 3rd party would have to hate sales to blow off the 360 platform. And for that, they'll answer to their stockholders if they are a public company. gCM

Granted, I do player match, but understand the HOST issue people are talking about. Otherwise, no issues. Thanks for the free maps. gCM

While I won't be giving up my cable modem anytime soon, the reason the cable companies don't want this is you could get ala carte content instead of paying for stupid channels you never watch.. Depending on the price, M$ may kill Sony AND force cable companies to make some changes... gCM

Congrats, M$ -- keep up the great work, and I await the articles on IPTV and the Home Server because those open up the capabilities!!! Sony probably has something up their sleaves I'm sure, but they're surely worried... M$ has a HUGE lead on the entertainment centerpiece. gCM

Those in stock will sell. If you're a game developer (or more importantly, a company president who has to answer to shareholders), do you go for the 650k sold by Sony (so far--of course it will go way up, but for now they are sitting in Best Buys untouched) or the near 10m?? Actually, in most cases you go for BOTH since you've already got your artwork developed (plus sound, maps, etc.) I've got to go play some more Gears---MAN am I glad Sony pushed back to fall 06 and I jumped to the 360--i...

Not sure if #3 was directed at me, but I failed to differentiate added levels/maps versus unlockable cars, etc. I bought the GRAW extra pack and will be first in line to buy any expansion to GoW (which Epic said will be free--yeah!). The companies shouldn't be shorting customers on levels just so they can sell them to them later--or risk reviewers ripping them on short missions/multi-player (ala GoW, which I still love). In Epic's case, I believe they were trying to meet the deadline impos...

1) It didn't say what was just gamer pics versus actual content (unlockable cars, new levels), and how much of that content wasn't available except through payment.
2) I will (and I'm sure not myself only) boycotting any product that has content that you must pay additional for, instead of unlocking through progress. That includes the games I'm waiting for: C&C, Bioshock, Kane & Lynch. I'm personally boycotting Madden and NCAA unless they have actual significant gameplay addit...

I agree--its the best game I've ever played. I am severely addicted. There are some bugs, but I believe they'll fix the lot of them with the upcoming release (and free multi maps!!!!) I gotta go play Gears online now... gCM

While the hardcore Sony fans (of which I recently was until they pushed their launch back the final time to Nov 06--bought a 360 to satisfy my HD gaming fix--Madden at the kiosk sold me) will pick them up for Final Fantasy and Snake, unless the Blu-Ray catches on big or a significant price drop happens, I just don't see demand increasing. RFOM may be a very good (even great) game, its just not competing with the other two machines. In fact, the Wii is selling like crazy (IMO until peoples ar...
