The obvious power gap is meaningless when PS4 is destroying XB1 sales and now the Pro has at least a 1 year head start. At that point, MS is playing catch-up again right out of the gate. Not to mention the fact that their 4k machine is actually pretty beastly and will undoubtedly sell for $500 at which point the PS4 Pro will have been on the market for a year so a $50-$100 price drop around the Scorpio's launch is well within reason. So, PS4 Pro which has a sizable install base with tons ...

Yeah it'll be the most powerful console in a year. And then a year or two after that the new Sony machine will be out. And a year or two after that, a new MS machine will be out. Sony and MS are laughing all the way to the bank because instead of hardware upgrades every 5 or so years (8 years for last gen) they're forcing them every 2 to 3 years. So while the "gamers" argue over which console is better, all MS and Sony sees are money printing machines buying new hardware at ...

Maybe it was to keep the console affordable? Just maybe? So basically you'd be here bitching if the Pro had a 4k player in it and cost $500+ whining about how there's not a lot of 4k content out there and Sony is just ripping off people by putting in a useless feature.

The bump in visuals is a lot more significant than I had originally thought prior to watching the footage today. Even without a 4k tv, the enhancements are pretty noticeable. The price is right too since it costs the same as the PS4 did 3 years ago. I'm definitely selling my PS4 to get the Pro.

The reason is pretty clear. Rise has been on XB1 for a year so it's obvious the price would drop. Rise has never been on PS4 so it's a new game. I don't understand why you expect it to debut on PS4 for $25 or even $40. It's a brand new game for a PS4 owner. Had you owned an XB1 a year ago, you would have paid $60 for it. What's the difference now?

You really need to get a better world view if a price hike for a videogame service is categorized as "indefensible."

It's not arrogance. It's business. Contrary to what you may think happens, they actually do research and run numbers on everything you could possibly imagine. They determined that raising the price will incur some bad publicity and a lot of people will stop subscribing. BUT, they know that in the end, they'll make more money because the price hike and people that continue to subscribe will heavily outweigh those that stop and sit around on gaming sites complaining.

Why did people buy PS1 slims when the PS2 was out? Why did people buy PS2 slims when the PS3 was out? Why did people buy PS3 slims when the PS4 was out? It's incredibly odd that the existence of the PS4 slim is debated. It's not like this is the first time this has happened.

And to want extra bells and whistles in the slim version is also odd. This is supposed to be a cheaper PS4. Not the same price or almost the same price as a PS4 with extraneous 4k features added...

What's poorly thought out about the Slim? It's a more cost effective console with reduced parts/manufacturing which is going to replace the original PS4. The Neo is an upgraded PS4. There was always going to be a PS4 and a Neo. Now we have a cheaper PS4 and a Neo. Where's the problem?

Also, until 4K TVs become a thing (it hasn't become a thing yet) for the general public, the XB1 S upscaling video to 4K is only going to appeal to a niche crowd. It still pla...

I like the look. Looks sleek with the rounded corners and the flat top makes it look even more compact. If I didn't already own a PS4, I'd definitely get the Slim over an OG model.

They're so unconfident with Gears 4 that they're giving away 4 other games on top of it? Damn man. How bad is the game going to be?

Jesus. Infiltration's made $80,000 in 6 months.

What exactly are these "exciting and new AAA brands?"

Spelunky was already a PS+ game so you can knock that one out. A Warriors game along with a Wrestling game and a PS2 port aren't any better than the PS+ offerings which btw has Yakuza 5 which automatically makes it the far and away winner between the two offerings.

It's going to be obsolete in about a year when the Scorpio comes out. It won't be the MVP of anything.

The less conferences each company has, the more there is to show when they do have one. Sony should skip PGW as well and have a stacked PSX in December. So E3, TGS, PSX.

Days Gone seems to be pretty popular which is in stark contrast to how lukewarm it's been viewed in the West.

I was thinking the same. Without someone telling him, "no" the game could turn out to be a bloated incoherent mess. Or it could be the best game of all time. But constraints/limitations aren't always a bad thing. It makes you think of other ways to do things.

It's pretty telling that the most exciting/talked about game for the XB1 this year is RDR, an X360 game.

You should be upset at gamers for not buying it. The Vita has some great games and a solid library. Why would Sony keep pouring their attention into a platform that the people don't want?
