I wasn't expecting this till Friday anyway, 99% of games are released on a Friday in the UK. When was it supposed to come out?!
If the devs will be out of work after finishing this game then I suspect they'll work harder to make the most polished and bug free game possible, and on time. It won't help them get remployed for another company if their last game was buggy and late would it:)
Depends on the mod if you ask me. If it's a substantial mod and it's highly anticipated then I'd say it's news alright. This however is just another Oblivion map/quest mod, of which tons are released every week. Oblivion and Fallout 3 have awesome mod communities.
To who ever disagreed with Bobby, here's what the reviewer said-
"Recommendation: Buy this for the PC if you have a choice. If you don't, buy it anyway"
How can anyone doubt the truth in that statement when what Bioware set out to do with this game is make a spiritual sucessesor to the Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights series?
Yes! I've been waiting so long for this. The quality of this user made campaign is incredible.
Thanks for the info, I didn't know that since I'm not a big fan of sports games anyway. How hard can it be to make decent ports for PC, I mean the games are made on a PC anyway.
I've never known a PC version of a multi plat to have worse off graphics than the console versions, due to AA and higher res etc. Have you seen the PC version on a good rig?
The post apocalyptic setting is where the comparisons to Fallout end IMO. Fallout had poor FPS mechanics, and most ppl always resorted to VATS. It was RPG heavy and FPS lite. Where as Borderlands looks to have slick and skilled FPS gameplay. And the emphasis on co-op rather than single player. I agree with angel604, there are many who will prefer this over Fallout and vise versa.
PC Gamer UK have just reviewed it - 86%
I'm not bothered about it either. I'll pick it up down the line I'm sure, but I'll be entertained with Dragon Age and Boderlands for a long time I think. PC Gamer UK have just reviewed them if anyone is interested,
Dragon Age - 94% ("best rpg of the last decade")
Borderlands - 86%
I loved the original Tropico back in the day, but similarly to pointdat I was skeptical about this one. Glad to see it's turned out to be great, I'll def be picking this one up.
Whilst I haven't yet picked up Demon's Souls, judging from the reviews and videos of it I have seen it is a very different game from Dragon Age. If you know any other Bioware titles like Neverwinter Nights, Knights of the Old Republic or Mass Effect you'll know what I mean.
Bioware are PC devs at heart, similar to Valve. Just look at their history.
I noticed something interesting whilst on the Dragon Age website- the PC version of the game case is at the front. That rarely happens with a multi plat!
"Half-Life has always been a series renowned for its intense gameplay, but it wasn’t until the sequel Half-Life 2 that the game became famous for its story as well."
Seriously? When I first played HL 1 in 1998 I was blown away by how much attention the narrative was given for an FPS. I mean the first hour or so of gameplay features no action what so ever.
Hate to break it to you likedamaster, but if it were cross plat, you'd be the one getting pwned by PC gamers using a mouse :)
I don't see why so many of you are having a panic attack. Just because Disney now owns Marvel doesn't mean they will "Disneyfy" all of Marvel's assets. Disney are the largest media and entertainment company in the world, they own a huge number of assets, many of which have nothing to do with Mickey and Goofy etc. Future Marvel films will stay true to their roots, whilst I'm sure existing Disney franchises (Kingdom Hearts) will not incorporate Marvel into them.
Lilo and Stitch is a real Disney classic so this is cool news. I have to say tho, Disney seems to try and throw Stitch into every new product they have, much to the dismay of some hardcore Disney vets. It's not that they dislike the film, it's just that he's been overused big time. Doesn't bother me tho!
Sooo... Sorry Blizzard you no longer have the largest gaming community with WoW, but congrats on having the largest gaming community with Battlenet! Anyway I'm not sure about this, Battlenet seems more like a service where WoW really is a community.
"I don't really care."
Well don't bother posting here geeze. I don't go into every PS3 slim topic and say "Well I don't give a rats arse." Leave this discussion area for people who do care.
Join us on the PC version and not only do you get these, but also a wealth of other user created maps, campaigns, mods and skins! Plus future official DLC will likely be free of charge.
