Say that to a widow, or a child who will grow up without one of their parents. And what does this even have to do with ignorance?

Plug you PC into you TV. PC gaming on the sofa in your family room. Problem solved.

Rather than just saying "no" why don't you people come up with some suggestions?

For me it's definitely up there. But some of the Lucasarts classics take the cake.

Monkey Island series
Sam & Max
Day of the Tentecle
Grim Fandango

"I'm not even sure what I would really want them to upgrade"

That my friend, is why you are not a games designer :P

Just because you cannot imagine what technological leaps can be made does not mean that there are none. There is so much potential for gaming in the future, personally I wish this current generation would end already but I can understand why some would not (financial/economic reasons).

Only a handful of developers...

All of my PC gaming friends (myself included) own at least 1 console. I have a 360 and a PS3. It doesn't stop PC gamers bashing consoles though, because the majority prefer their PC.

The way I see it pc gamers are at a better position to judge, as they more often than not have all gaming platforms, rather than rabidly defending the only console they own.

If you think a new gen of consoles will only effect the quality of graphics then you aren't thinking big enough.

Games have the potential to be so much more, and we could be there already if these "gens" didn't last as long as they do. BF3 is an example of pushing the envelope. Fully destructable city scapes with 64 players is not possible on current gen consoles. Bring on the next gen so forward thinking developers like DICE can create games with techn...

Whilst I don't see myself going back to Crysis 2 again and again as I did (and still do) with the original, it's still a solid game. Despite being less of a sandbox than the original, Crysis 2 is still far less linear than your average mass market FPS.

My score would be Crysis - 9.5
Crysis 2 - 9.0

It's heart warming to see such a complex and deep game doing so well in the midst of a generation dominated by casual and "streamlined" games. Good job Creative Assembly!

Indeed. BF 1942 was over 6 years ago. Wow how time flies.

I enjoyed Spore. It was a fun, quirky title, and the creature creator was wonderful. The main reason it was so controversial was due to it being massively over hyped. Aside from the creation aspect, it was a very shallow game, where as people were expecting an unprecedented level of depth.

I'm having the same issue on dual SLI GTX480s. ATI cards are fine apparently. Hopefully Nvidia can release a patch/driver update soon to fix the issue.

Ah ok fair enough mate. I'm a subscriber also, which is why I was so quick to defend them!

I agree with you about the no name sites. Unfortunately though, there are many gamers who take any reviewers word as fact, no matter how questionable his/her integrity may be.

"No name websites"? PC Gamer is one of the most respected and trusted gaming magazines on the planet. Hence why they often get a lot of world first reviews.

PC Gamer has been around since 1993 and is the best selling PC games magazine in the UK and the US.

PC Gamer UK magazine released the first review (and only?) of the game about 2 weeks ago. They are highly respected journalists, and scored the game 94%.

How refreshing to see a game that has spurred unanimous praise from all corners of the gaming community. I'll be picking this up for my PC rig for the 64 player experience, but I hope my console bretheren get fantasic experience also.

And not reading the review and commenting on it makes you seem foolish. Here's what he says -

"The best RPG of the decade? Nine more years will tell, but for now, yes."

"from everything I've heard about it lately, it sounds like absolute shit."

Well I would seriously doubt your sources, since you thought WoW only had 5 million subs. I've been playing since vanilla, and seriously WoW has completely reinvented itself with Cataclysm, and is all the better for it.

There's no more grind - questing is streamlined, each zone is a massive story arch with huge varitey in each. And new phasing tech allows t...
