At this point, it's not fair to criticise the graphics considering the scope and ambition for this game. Heck, if Killzone or Uncharted could opt for bigger environments at the cost of minimal graphical improvements, I'm all for it.
Why not? GTAIV didn't stop MGS4 from selling.
Considering Nihilistic's reputation, I'm surprised they were able to churn out a game in less than half-a-year.
I... don't know about that. GTAIV and Red Dead were pretty underwhelming on that department in my opinion. MP3 was another variation of your standard TPS deathmatch.
There's nothing wrong with opinions within the review. However, what makes it so fundamentally different than your average user review?
I look at reviews because I want to know whether or not I can warrant a purchase on a game. I don't wanna take risks buying every possible game only to be disappointed, and this is what reviews are able to shed light upon.
Reviews should take into consideration controls, bugs, glitches, gameplay time. Although I do...
This is the kind of game that is perfect for the Vita. Plus it would have trophies (something that was lacking in steam).
LOL, better worlds and A.I. Halo 1 had this and it was a LAST gen game. No, if this pinnacle of the top AAA franchise today places more emphasis on streamlining the living shit out of every possible game they can think of, not even the next gen would save it.
Ah yes, finally someone gets it. This is not mass for mass big as those 3 combined. So that means we'll see a lot of indoor areas as well. It all points out to how much more dense the city would be.
Just because we R* has given a press release on their new game, it only serves to hype the game up. Introducing new mechanics, features and such, nothing different to what other promotional material other games do like the excessive "tech" marketing on Assassin's Creed 3 & Max Payne 3.
If anything, the reviews getting harsher (or just being diabolically self-entitled), everything all boils down to see how the game delivers. Right now the game industry is ...
I was surprised how fast the 2nd layer was nearly gone. After that I had problems logging in the server.
Is it 720p on the PS3 this time around? Or is it sub-hd just like the last 2 open world games from R*?
Or it can work in their favor. For starters, the media unanimously believed that they were watching a "single" player in the original preview. This is a very big testament to how much detail SSM is placing in this game. Let us not forget how underwhelming the E3 2009 showing was. Likewise, history is repeating itself again.
Deliberately under-hyping the game and then having everyone chase a red herring only to find out the meat of the game (which is the single p...
Simple:
- Convenience
- Accessibility
- No compromises in performance and visuals (assuming you have the equipment)
- No "fixed" retail prices.
Ever since I gamed on PC, I have SAVED TONS, purchasing more games than I ever did playing on the PS3 alone, which is an insane logic when you think about it.
Problem with AAA blockbuster titles is that they relatively play it TOO SAFE and checkmark any tick boxes that they believe would achieve a more positive outcome, such as:
- Better graphics
- Bigger environments
- Inclusive Multiplayer
- Accessibility to casuals
Now even the mainstream media are already exhausted with everyone following the COD path. Whether from Assassin's creed to Uncharted or Halo. Gamers are now clamoring for...
No one should EVER use metacritic as any sort of credibility. The fact that each game can have a fluctuating amount of reviews - depending how many or how little can already impact the "score" at the end. A game with 1 bad review could significantly bring down the rating depending how much LESS the reviews are posted.
Worse, each game can have anywhere between 20 - 100+ reviews. How can a metacritic of 90+ be "objective" if one game had 10+ reviews vs a ...
It is the highest rating game this gen due to:
A) Achieving excellent gameplay on a control scheme that is considered a "gimmick". No console today or before has every achieved this. This is like having a Kinect game destroying AAA games like Uncharted or Gears with it's motion control scheme.
B) Redefining the aesthetics of the character with brilliant engrossing levels in utilize a planetary environment with such finese detail.
Whether or not 7/10 is a "good" score is irrelevant. Scores practically are meaningless due to the different attributes that tally up to it depending on the reviewer. His opinion is clearly not the kind that warrants such criticism because it can be applied to ANY game REGARDLESS how well made or polished it is simply because they don't "agree" to it's mechanics.
Secondly, too many people keep defending reviews (usually when it is negative to ...
NOT because I think Halo deserved that scores but because reviewers are now trying to show how "critical" they can be. NOW, the ultimate test is to see if the reviewers will give the "free" pass to COD to which so many has claim. These reviewers will be in every one's target sights especially for the upcoming BOII.
The “ultimate goal” for the hardware, we were told, is for it to be able to run 1080p60 games in 3D with “no problem,” to create a machine that’s powerful enough for “today and tomorrow’s market”.
Now this is VERY telling. Assuming this rumor is to be true, 2 things need to be considered:
1) 1080p 60fps in 3D (which is double the performance cost) would most certainly apply to the PS3 titles.
2) This would place the power equivalent to at l...
Enjoyable, yes. But is it worth the money? Gravity Rush is about $10 cheaper and has far more content and playability than this.
