God, I'd never thought I'd say this but this is the first time a game literally made me feel motion sick. What an absolute dog-sh*t of the camera. Since I'm pretty sure this is definitely not addressed in retail based on my experience I can definitely see why the scores are the way they are.
LOL, this review is unabashedly shameful it tries to reads like a product placement that tries to oversell itself and make apologetic sentiments to make the game seem more legit over the mediocre reviews. Sorry, I ain't buying this obvious nonsense even if you do not agree with the "low" scores they just so happened to be far more informative and indicative to the gameplay experience - this... on the other hand is just blatant advertisement.
Despite being criticized in all fronts, I'm still surprised how positive his outlook is when he develops games. Regardless if you like his games or not, it's this passion that makes him as developer that makes him so strangely enticing. Personally, I believe this guy is just too old-school for modern times. Here's hoping for the next syndicate/b&w.
As long as frame-rate gap doesn't flunctuate consistently, you'd hardly notice plus you still get that extra smoothness and feedback a normal 30fps couldn't. Besides the GOW trilogy (Not including HD) falls under the variable 40 - 60 the latest being 30- 45 and very rarely 60fps.
ND already stated the placeholder date prevented them from polishing the game even further. The poor aiming mechanics and the off-beat pacing of the story is a testament to that.
Why do you think they don't give any placeholder dates for TLOU?
And I'm afraid FC3 seems to be following on that tradition. I'm not so easily blinded with "hi-specs" without taking the optimization argument into question. NO CONSOLE based games should demand that kind of requirements when bumped up to the maximum possible settings.
I'm actually very concerned about the "hi-specs". Take note this is coming game built from a console. What kind of post-processing effects would require an unbelievable amount of power to pull it off? Even if next-gen starts, this is the kind of requirements that can theoretically run those games at 1080p/60fps assuming the "rumored" next-gen console specs were valid.
Hell isn't this the same bloody specs to run the UE4 tech demo?
But it works for the fundamental part. Had there been a revolutionary control scheme at that point he wouldn't have to limit himself to the standard dualshock format we have today.
In that case, you could easily corrupt the score system by placing selected reviewers who has no interest in that particular game and it will always end up having a poor score. What you mentioned is too abstract and has barely any solid foundation for reviews. In that case even the outlandish 0 user reviews could be valid because what you said clearly applies to them as well.
Thank you. Someone actually read my statement in it's correct context.
You're just transparent and have been called out. No need for damage control.
Had they address this from the beginning they wouldn't have this drama by the fans. This is the problem with many developers, they expect the lack of awareness is something they can take for granted.
Could it be possible that Kojima ran the game at the settings more in tune of that of the PS3/360. You don't need to get underperforming parts for that you know? Heck, many PC games could run at 480p with LOW settings if you want.
"I doubt they're gonna sell that many. I think it's pretty clear as to why they're not bothering. Even back when SOCOM was still hot, that number would have been a serious gamble. Sony is not in a position to take gambles, at the moment."
You DO realize they just remastered both ICO and SoTC. Both of which have been grossly undersold despite their acclaim back in the PS2 era. By your logic, that HD collections would not be greenlighted considering the ...
The problem with this mentality is that there has YET to have a survival horror that blended action successfully. The only closest game in that department is Biohazard 4 and I still consider it a far cry from the "survival" horror from it's predecessors or games like silent hill.
I like how they only focus on the price factor and FAILED to research why it was $20 more than the current model. Last I checked, it had an Uncharted 3 along with a plus along with it. Eliminate the extra features and tell me now that the PS3 isn't cheaper.
I mean, really? Do I have to do everything for them just to clear things out?
I'd really hate to be in your universe.
" you’re not willing to part with your money then progress will be slow-going, and it’s genuinely hard to know who to recommend it to. That being said, a little originality goes a long way, and Ecolibrium certainly has its fair share of that."
Could he not at least judge it based upon purchasing instead of the "free" service indicted?
But it wouldn't cost that much to re-master and the ROI would be greater even if it doesn't sell as much as the original SOCOM.
I don't see why the main franchise wouldn't. But I can be absolute certain it would not reach their expectations. There is almost a unanimous point that the game never lived up to it's high standard it was supposed to be.
