No, the developers did state that all the Uncharted(s) aside from GA all run in the same budget more or less. It's just that the first game had more resources into building the engine.
Last I checked, SONY offered to buy Insomniac multiple times but was denied because they insist on being independent.
You are a troll. Give us a list of identical comparisons between Uncharted and TLOU and I doubt you would come up with anything other than it's a third-person game with the same artstyle.
At the very least, it does have a better frame-rate and higher res options. The standard.. just standard. Unlike the dreaded Dark Souls port - that Durante fix clearly pushed a lot more sales for that game on STEAM and it goes to show PC gamers will put money where it is properly deserved.
I disagree. I doubt the budget for this game exceeds that of Uncharted and that game was made with only 20 million dollars. If anything, it's received extremely well as a new IP franchise this gen.
Considering it was originally a "handheld" title. I was expecting it to at least make it to the Vita. Although it seems CAPCOM is clearly steering away from the device as proven with the MH track record.
I think the real issue right here is that the score is docked for ATTEMPTING to do exactly what the reviewer hates. You can't use the "opinion" excuse because it would be like giving Street Fighter a 4 out of 10 because if a pre-defined move set to perform certain attacks instead of streamlining all moves into 1 button makes it "inconvenient" to the average reviewer. By this logic all games can truly get average scores if the reviewer is unwilling to see it from a fa...
Most likely 1080p 60fps on CURRENT gen games. If you expect that kind of resolution and frame-rate on a "closed" system then you are setting yourself up for disappointment as they would rather do MORE graphics on 720p/30fps. Same exact reason why current gen consoles don't do 1080p/60fps even though they are fully capable of doing so.
If every gamer could PLAY EVERY GAME that gets released before JUDGING, what would be the point of reviews then?
Judging from the "leaked" specs. It is almost no different to what we have seen this gen aside from the fact SONY decided to follow the PC trend of gaming tools instead of it's bespoke model this gen. The only difference would be the exclusives and the "alternate" control scheme.
We're not so sure what would happen next-gen but SONY should not have the disadvantage in the multi-plat OR X-game chat department this time around.
...
Didn't OXM and other early reviews rate RE6 highly? Look what happened after that.
This is the reviewers fault. Because of all the score inflation regarding AAA and A titles and then ascribing different types of reviewers that would lead toward their "bias/opinion", the general viewer no longer holds them credible.
Reviews no longer hold a place on how a game is reviewed but how many "hits" one can get. Even you should see how obvious it is.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the multi-million contract with SONY was that it should span 3 games on the PS3. This would be Flow, Flower and Journey.
Sadly, this is one of times where the "opinion" matter doesn't count on their side. These same "whiners" who will defend the likes of said opinion when it only favors their side to deliver their tripe.
Journey is an amazing game and despite it's humor winning GOTY (since no indie game has done so in the past), the fact that it did from 2 of the biggest gaming sites must really hit their ego harder than a bullet train.
Good thing a lot of gamers spoke against this shitty product despite the mockery of the apologists out there.
Silent Hill isn't about the "scary" factor. It's the disturbing nature of the human of psyche projected in a town. Whether you feel scared or not is just a reaction to what the subject entails.
I'm sorry, but Eternal Darkness was one of the best horror GC games around. If anything, they may do the series a lot more justice then the other western devs. Sadly, anything they've made afterwards just went down the toilet.
Congratulations, you have entered the realm of "next-gen" development. Remember how people used to scoff that game budgets would drop. Sadly, they neglect the fact that higher tech would require MORE manpower to pull that off. Dark Souls wasn't even using the state-of-the-art tech, and if the sequel's release is to be in the same ballpark adjusted to inflation just imagine how horrendous the next GTA/Halo/Uncharted or other AAA budgets would be in the future.
Valve's MAIN source of revenue is STEAM. The "steambox" acts as an extension of the service to people who want to get into PC gaming without the quips and quirks of driver updates and the like. The big 3 on the other hand MUST SELL THEIR CONSOLES as their source of revenue (hence the slim revisions). Valve, by these standards are immune and any steambox sold is simply extra profit on top of the main distribution service which is STEAM.
Secondly, the "ste...
To think... a JRPG that isn't Final Fantasy this gen is raking in all positive reception despite the fact it didn't even TRY to be "westernized". Wada is probably busting his head on the table right now with another FF disaster in the making this autumn.
