There are so many inaccuracies in this review I wonder if the reviewer played the game at all... More shady journalism from the so called "professionals".
@1.1 It must be fun to make sh!t up about people as you go along.
1. Pachter has always been fair.
Defending the PS3 against claims that it will end up like the 3DO back in Sept. 2k7 at the top of the Playstation 3 media hate:
Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter agrees. “It’s a pretty stupid (and unfair) comparison,” he said. “3DO was a new platform, no brand ID, not compatible with legacy software, and with no first or third party support....
Typical self-absorbed, kiddie fanboy attitude. "If it doesn't interest me then it shouldn't exist."
It's not. Its a desperate attempt at getting clicks. Unless DLC stands for downloaded costumes now...
I personally would laugh at a remake on the PSP. PS3, 360, PC or a PSP2 launch title I can deal with. I don't want some half ass cash in. Do it right or don't do it at all. I wouldn't even bother buying it if it was on the PSP.
Looking forward to Crackdown 2 and Perfect Dark. Everything else is eh, whatever...
You're thinking of Tri-Crescendo. Tri-Ace's releases this gen are Star Ocean 4 and Infinite Undiscovery.
Blame it on Sega's idiotic release schedule. Releasing Yakuza 3 the same day as FF 13 and Resonance of Fate the same day as God of War 3. It's like they want these two games to fail. Yakuza 3 barely got any media attention and Resonance of Fate is getting NONE. If you were a big box retailer which games would you have stocked for those weeks? BTW Amazon.com is your friend for limited and hard to find releases.
Problem is how are you suppose to aim if the recoil is the action that registers as a fire button? As the article states you could use a 360 controller but its a 2-handed device which leaves natal open to read head and leg movements? The whole thing sounds clumsy. I honestly have no idea how microsoft can make it work without selling a one handed device with buttons.
After playing 20 hrs or so I would find it hard to believe the core game was glimped because it went multiplat. The major problem are the level designs. The level design team should be fired. Linear is fine if they want to tell a tightly woven tale but at least make the journey entertaining. These are the most boring "dungeons" I can remember playing. Walk a straight path. Oh there's a branch in the path here. Must be a treasure chest at the end of it with monsters guarding i...
@1.8 They probably mean online. The only place that has it is walmart.com and they are forcing you to buy a game and charging $15 shipping + tax. All other big online retailers are out. Amazon, Bestbuy, Gamestop etc.
If true then that's not too bad at all. So the 470 maybe $350ish?
I'm not sure how you guys play your god of war games. Took me about 12 hrs to finish the first and about 17 hrs to finish the 2nd game. But I try to solve the puzzles myself. I don't go to faqs every time I get stuck and that does slow me down. I admit I do get lost sometimes too as I have a horrible sense of direction. lol
I think it has more to do with Rein's trying to get leverage on MS then making a point to fanboys. Let's face it 3rd party devs know MS is the money tree this generation. Have a multimillion selling game? Go to MS for money to make it multiplat, timed exclusive or exclusive and you'll get a fat paycheck. Can't really blame Reins, since its the environment MS has created.
This is definitely a stimulus package for Activision. 1/4 the price of the original game for 3 new maps. Crazy.
@3.3 Yeah you may be regretting your choice to buy FF13 but which one did you end up purchasing? And you won't be alone.
Sega should have really held off on releasing this game. Putting it out on the same day as FF 13 was idiotic if not suicidal. Would it really have been that bad to push it out to April or May?
Sony hasn't lost any exclusive since they own all the IPs Insomniac works on. If Insomniac makes a multiplat game it will be a new IP. So how exactly did they lose an exclusive?
God of War 2 was released in March 2007.
Jeanne D'Arc is the best game I've played on the PSP. It's really a shame it didn't sell well enough for Sony or Level 5 to ever make a sequel.
