I believe their just saying they would rather build it themselves and save the 30%-40% mark up.

They aren't official 360 hard drives.

1. Video card should be swapped with a 5770.
2. Motherboard should be bought as part of a combo deal with cpu at Newegg or Fry's(which now ships some of their combo deals but the good ones sell out quick) to save money.
3. Dump the fancy ram and get ddr2 value ram for $30 less.
4. You can pick up a 1tb hard drive for $5 more on sale.
5. BFG is like a month from going out of business. Might wanna buy from a company that will be around in a year...

Just because you're too stupid to look for good games without tv commercials doesn't mean there aren't any. Plus 95% of the time the PC has the best version of multiplat games.

@ 1.1.5

Your first link is very limited only benching 5 games and showing benches at 25 x 16(except metro) which hardly anyone has. It also isn't with the latest Nvidia beta drivers release a couple of days ago which boosted performance.

Your 2nd link is a launch review. Since then Nvidia has had 2 driver updates which boosted performance.

If you want a more accurate view look take a look here:

Zotac has a GTX 460 with display port on it.

@1.1.4 Your argument makes no sense at all. A used car does not degrade in performance until after the warranty expires (typically 3 to 4 years). Does that mean car companies should get a cut of car sales that are still under warranty? What about computers? A working computer has no drop in performance as they age. Should Dell, HP, Asus and the lot whine about used computer or computer part sales? Fact is NO ONE gets to double dip on used sales except the government who charges sales t...

@1.1.2 Its the DX11 features that slow the game down to a crawl. Since you have an ATI DX10 card those options (tessellation and Advance depth of field) as well as physx that kill performance aren't available to you.

"oh boy there it is that pc fanboy Jealously and Insecurity"

You're the one trolling in a pc article and he's the Jealous insecure fanboy? Yeah, time for some self-reflection dude.

Although I see no reason to bring MS and the 360 into a discussion about the iphone at least get your facts straight. MS wait over a year and half before extending the warranty to 3 years. That is more then 3 times longer then you claim. 360 released on Nov. 2k5. They did not extend the warranty until July 2k7.

Just because an idiot throws money at something doesn't mean he'll get the results he wants.

Not on pc. Which is a shame.

He didn't have to lie to anyone. All he had to do was keep his fat mouth shut like he said he would for a few months. The dude is an attention whore. He'll do anything to get attention like he is doing right now. Apologizing to get attention. He didn't have to do interviews and appearances on shows or do his dumb blog. What he should be doing is working on the f-ing game. But he can't stop himself.

Well I'm sure my power supply appreciates your sympathy but it runs fine. And is on almost on 24/7.

5107d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

You certainly don't need a 600w power supply as long as its a quality unit. Especially for the class of cards he's considering. You can run a quad core and a 4850 on a 400 watt Corsair. I currently run an overclocked i5 750, overvolted, overclocked 470 gtx, 3 hard drives, a blu-ray drive and 5 case fans off of a 550w Antec basiq.

newegg often has decent 400 to 600 watt power supplies for $25 to $30 after rebate. Then just pick up a 4850 or a 250 gts. If you can't afford those then go 4830 or 240 gts. Total should be $100 to $120.

Yeah because Sony hasn't made people "upgrade" controllers 2 times now in 4 years. Microsoft hasn't made people upgrade hard drives for 5x retail cost of regular drives. Nintendo hasn't forced people to upgrade those wiimotes for more accuracy.

@1.1.1 uh, that's kind of the point. Even if PC won you guys wouldn't know because PC games are an open platform. There is no single company that is going to shell out millions for a "conference". Which is really just a 1.5 hour long advertisement.

Edit @below. PC games were at E3. 3 conferences do not equal E3. Moron...

You certainly don't need a 1k pc to run Crysis in 720p. A $500 or $600 machine will do that or much less if you buy used. BTW for anyone having trouble running crysis turn off motion blur in the config file. It can add 10+ frames per sec.

5108d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Do you know for a fact that metro 2033 is coming and it will run at max setting? They will need 2 480 gtx's running in sli to always keep the frames above 30 per sec with everything turned on in that game. That's $900 to 1k they may potentially have to put up for every person that buys that one game. But lets just do the math for 3 years for fun with laptops.

You said you paid $400 for your laptop.

Laptop $400.
