I loved Dragon Age on PC. Probably the most fun I had with any game this year. I think an extremely important part of a rpg is story and character development and as far as I know Demon Soul has next to no story and npcs to interact with. Of course that's just my opinion and as others have said to each their own.
My pick is FF 13 as the top seller worldwide. MS has diluted the Halo name with 3 Halo games coming out in a two year span. Just look at ODST numbers. They are no where near Halo 3 numbers. I think maybe 5-6 million copies for Reach. God of War sold 2 to 3 million per release? It will probably do around 3 million. The first Final Fantasy game each new generation sells a ton as 7 and 10 did. And this time its multiplat. FF13 I'd expect to do in the 8-10 million range.
Yes I'm talking about Yakuza 3's Western release. Yakuza 4 will do fine in Japan regardless of it's release date.
Honestly this is a pretty bad release window for this game. Going up against God of War 3, FF 13 and whatever else is coming out in that window is going to hurt this game. I think Sega should push it back to late April or May. Gamers only have so much money.
That's the trade off. Sony and MS subsidize the cost of the hardware in the beginning but you pay more for each games (Nintendo is excluded of course since they can put out any old crap hardware and the kiddies will buy it).
@1.5 I mostly agree with you. I don't see why anyone would play a SINGLE player multiplat game on a console. But if the game has split screen like Left 4 Dead they might want to play with friends on the same screen. But yeah it funny how these fanboys stu...
Why is this garbage still on here? He didn't even put a question mark at the end. Pure speculation yet it passes as news? BTW this isn't new. Sony did a survey earlier in the year asking people if they would pay for a monthly rental service.
Think Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis. Two different shows with different characters but contained in the same Universe.
MS loses nothing by banning consoles since they just pocketed the money. They didn't give refunds for unused time on Live. If anything they get to double up if those people buy new consoles because they have to buy another Live Gold membership.
Not if he owns the game.
So what kind of specs would be needed to run this at normal speed in 1080p?
This is hardly good for the industry though good for consumers. For the last week Left for Dead 2 could be found just about anywhere for $25-30 for pc and $30 to $35 for 360. Having to slash games to half price a week and a half after release can't be good. Sure sales are up but the profits have to be way down.
I wonder if these numbers are true if MS will claim shortages again. But to be fair MS moved a good number of units the week before black Friday when Amazon and Walmart were doing their buy a 360 arcade get a $100 gift cert. So Nov. numbers may not be as lopsided as some of you think.
Please, you rarely see any kind of article about the Wii get over 30 comments regardless. Quite frankly the fanboys don't really care. Fanboys pretty much ignore the Wii and PC articles and they make up about 70% of the comments on any given article.
@1.14 Best Buy and Walmart will do commercials with any company willing to foot some of the bill for it.
I find that hard to believe. What video card do you have?
Sorry to break it to the author but jrpgs have always been a niche market. Besides Final Fantasy what other series routinely sold over 1 million units in the west?
You can build a much better computer then this for less if you live near a Fry's and shop around a little.

Does a wii, 360 or PS3 come with a tv? Keyboard and mouse combos can be had on sale for $15-20 or even free after rebate. OS is a bit trickier. If your a student you can pick up win 7 for $30. If not then its a bit harder to find at a decent price. I have seen the oem system builder version of Win 7 for as low as $80.
Walmart and Amazon both offered $20 gift certs with the purchase of Modern Warfare 2 for preorders. So that game was cut to $40 before it even came out. Amazon and Walmart are still offering $10 gift certs on it. Plus amazon will throw in a 12 month gold card for $30 if you buy it. Those aren't specials?
@2.1
And have you played Dragon Age on PC. If not then your a hypocrite.
