Lol. They actually did run it for posterity's sake:

Nice to see some new features to Steam streaming here. They come so infrequently though. Still doesn't support multi-user or remote (WAN) play like the PS4 does...
Agreed. Invariably Switch's biggest competition will be the same as the Vita's - mobile games. Nintendo will keep supporting the Switch with IP (as will Indies) so it'll stay alive but it won't be keeping pace with new releases. Doom and Wolfenstein 2 on Switch will be the Borderlands 2 on Vita.
And I'm gonna make sure to jump in on launch for this one to support it. Hopefully there will be a community that stays with the game.
Those that don't care about retro Nintendo games are not gonna feel happy about this. Sure it's cheaper than PSN/XBL, but you also get more with the other services and most importantly they didn't change policies mid-generation. There's not that much online for Switch yet, and I think lots of people will refuse to pay this. They should at least keep core MP free to keep growing the platform.
I just don't know how this will be received. People have been playing online with the Switch for free since launch. If you're not into retro Nintendo games (I would put the majority into that category but I'm just guessing) then you're not gonna feel good about having to pay for what was previously free. People might just put the Switch down and pick their phone/tablets back up. Kinda ballsy for Nintendo IMO...
Wonder what they'll do new with Halo 6. I'm sure we'll get the standard campaign and arena MP as the meat and potatoes, but will they follow the Battle Royale trend for a new mode?
Ok, now that makes sense. Thanks.
There has to be more for Microsoft than that one mixer section, right? Am I missing it?
Right. And the US list price for a full-size game has remained at $60 for a long time. Currency and tax changes in other countries probably effect the prices a bit there, but they seem to peg the US price. I do expect the price to go up at some point though due to the increased costs associated with making these incredibly detailed games
NPD had Sea of Thieves kicking butt in sales, and I'm sure they can't count GamePass as a sale. I agree with all the SoT criticism, but I have to accept the data we have - it sold copies pretty darn well despite the reviews and despite free GamePass trials...
Man that's good PR!
Agreed. Double down on the West. The East has been lost by a wide margin.
On the hardware front I'd love to see MS partner with a PC mfr like Dell and put out an Xbox handheld that's just a mini-pc like the GPD Win / Smach Z with an embedded controller. Seems like it wouldn't take a lot of investment and would help expand the brand. It could incorporate the new AMD embedded Ryzen chipset. Slim chance but how cool would that be?
I don't really see MS differentiating much on the services front. The only notable service outside XBL itself is GamePass, and Sony beat them to that punch with PSNow years ago. You can argue that GamePass is better (I agree. PSNow never reached it's potential), but it's not like MS is really innovating or differentiating that much. Not enough to say they're focusing on services while Sony is not...
If you read the supporting report, Superdata states that half the players played via the free trial, but they didn't state how many continued the subscription past the trial. The title is misleading
Sony's on fire, no doubt. I for one would like to see Guerilla go back to Killzone for their next project. Maybe a reboot for all the newer Sony fans?
Me too. I spend more $ on VR games than normal ones. I don't think there are many of us though.
For every one person that wants to see an artistic game that's designed to make a statement, there's probably 100 that don't want to even see it under new releases. Seems like Steam has democratized the green lighting process, so if people are interested you'll get published. There are even custom curators that you can set up if you're into a particular niche. But Steam shouldn't have to put a game front and center just because the developer thinks their game deserves...
Its tagged with Xbox One, but don't think it's slated for Xbox yet...
