I'm talking about Xbox as a platform - a console.
I mean... Gamers will care less about Xbox because they'll be moving to PlayStation. Not that they won't be interested in the next Halo/Gears/Elder Scrolls whatever... But it's just a software company vs. an entire platform
The only thing interesting about this stage of gaming is that the platform built by the biggest company in the world is about to completely fail
Hard to trust the integrity of the reviews when they are caught manipulating their audience
It would help increase the cost of game development which would hurt the industry and the consumer. Unions suck
Lionbridge- not owned by MS/Xbox. So, #1, silly to blame MS for this
#2 like the industry isn't hurting enough, let's bring Unions in.
So PS has quietly added PSVR2 games to Premium!
Seems to go beyond Days of Play.
Good discount on upgrading to premium right now, so I'll bite for the VR titles alone.
Whether your plan on buying one or not, the thing is that PS is running circles around Xbox in the hardware department.
Just to put things into perspective, when Sony put a slim PS5 out there they redesigned the console and made the drive modular. They at least put some effort into it. Finally, a year later Microsoft just pulls the drive out and calls it a day. In that time Sony has readied a PS5 Pro to add insult to injury.
GamePass isn't cheap on console... Xbox players are paying for it. And the more MS puts on GP the more they'll eventually have to raise the prices. It'll all work itself out in the end I think.
From the trailer doesn't seem like my kinda game
Even after Netflix's meteoric ride, there was a reconciliation of price increases and expense reduction after the growth tapered off. Are we thinking this could precipitate such a rise for GP?
True. I just don't usually take the sometimes dubious deals into account because ymmv on that stuff. Just looked there today for PC GamePass and the deal only worked for new users
From a PC perspective at $120/year if it includes COD which I would normally pay for every year, hell yeah it's a bargain.
On console it's not quite as great + $204/year (core is overpriced to subsidize GP)
It's not niche but it's not everything.
MS has got a HUGE cache of IP and studios now
I think you're mostly right. They've been failing on console and will most likely drop out.
But the concern a lot of us had was that they would use their $ to win monopolistically. They've already bought a huge number of big studios. Going multi-platform would alleviate that concern.
But they could still turn the screws, this game isn't over quite yet... They're sending mixed signals.
"another Fable, another Gears, Perfect Dark"?
That's a lot of pretty great "anothers".
I could use a few of those "anothers" from Sony right now.
None of us really know how much they're going third party. They're still ACTING like they want to protect the platform - no mention of PS5 in their show, still marketing the console, still using the Xbox logo.
Yeah Phil acknowledged more is coming to PS5. But is that Indiana Jones? Perfect Dark? Gears?
If they keep those key properties in their stable it's not accurate to label them as simply 3rd party.
They may very well still be in the game after all....
Well the disc version is just adding cost for a population that's largely not using it. It's a good move by them.
Hardly a competitor to the Pro though, assuming that's still coming out.
They already are. Look at console sales.
And once you have hardware with Epic and Steam on it, that's a PC, not a console. You think Xbox is stronger than ever? Dude... You've gotta be trolling
