That's the kinda funny thing about all the concern for the game... It's only like 8 hours... Good or bad a very small portion of my gaming time will be impacted.
If GTA6 got hosed, on the other hand, I'd probably cry lol
They don't make more money when others scalp for double. They're not purposely shorting the market
Between the Portal, PSVR2, Edge controller, Pulse headsets, and potentially PS5 Pro Sony customers are going to have a lot of hardware purchase choices this holiday
Take good care of those Xboxes if you have 'em ...
Yeah I was hoping burning shores would have been added now that it's a year old vs. the base game being removed.
I wouldn't be surprised if both MS and PS continue to either walk back the quality of games in the sub services or increase the price, since it's now clearer to them how cannibalistic these services are
I think after Xbox is gone they'll make a bigger push to move PC gamers over to PS, and they may halt momentum on the PC ports to do that. PC and Nintendo gamers will be the only ones left to convert
For console, it's over $200 / year for GamePass.
Most of the 3rd party games they bring are no longer impressive. The first party games have not been good.
My opinion is the PS Essentials is currently the best deal in gaming at $80/year and you get decent games to keep every month. GP on PC for $120 is good too.
If NEW COD gets added in without a price increase, PC GP would truly be great.
When they show GTA6 on the Pro I think you'll get it
Remember the relatively common counter that went something like "I'm sure you arm-chair CEOs know better how to run a company than the biggest company in the world"?
I mean - there's a lot to running a company for sure, but on this topic it's hard to understand how Phil and team didn't see this coming.
Hurray! No more big gam.... wait... what??
There are textbook scenarios where it's good...
Microsoft is definitely not one of those scenarios
True. We don't know exactly who to blame for what, but end of the day you're not getting paid to put out crappy games.
I hope at least they kept the good people and moved them into other divisions
Revenue up due to acquisition... Spending 10s of billions for new companies of course revenue is up. They don't tell us profits but they wouldn't be shutting down these divisions if they were in the black. Pretty sure they're shifting so radically because their current state has been an abject failure
I'm hoping Steam can make a play to compete with a Steam Box. Slim chance but I can dream...
A Xbox version of Logitech G-Cloud?
I mean, why bother? Not like the G cloud is flying off shelves and what would Xbox add to make it better?
They're surely not going to create bespoke architecture here and there are already a few Windows handhelds out there. I have little confidence in their ability to put together an attractive UI in the way Steam did. So I doubt anything will come from this.
Not going to happen
I think it's likely going to be an Xbox branded PC, but if you think about it, that essentially means game over for Xbox as well
Gamepass is the other shoe that has yet to drop.
Do you think they'll put the upcoming COD on GamePass without raising prices by at least $4/month?
Old ones sure, but old ones get given away on PS+ and such all the time already - that's not where the $ is at.
Cash rich companies have to do something with their cash, so acquisitions make sense.
Problem is MS tends to run them into the ground because they suck at managing companies.
I think if your average player would spend more on the MTs than the game cost, Activision would have gone F2P by now. The Activision CEO went on record saying he though putting COD on GamePass was "value destructive" or something like that. COD is like the only game out there that tons of people pay full price for EVERY YEAR, which is an amazing position to be in. If anyone can mess this gravy train up, it's MS though...
