If I can get $300 for my OG PS5, even a $600 PS5 Pro only sets me back by about $300-$350.
That seems pretty reasonable for an upgrade that could significantly improve FPS in games...

i'm the same way. i want to say no as i have a PC with a 3080 already, but there will be that one game that i want to look its best

Nothing like 5 more bumps to the head to teach a lesson

Even if it wouldn't have been the next Call of Duty, it would have satisfied the PlayStation faithfuls and hardcore LoU fans. That would be a better outcome than this

Here's to hoping their live service strategy does with it

I think you're right, it's gotta be a series of things. I can't tell how much of it is "planned" as part of their cost cutting layoffs and console strategy vs. plain old incompetence. Either way it's not trending in the right direction.

I don't think they'll ditch physical until there's no competition left that offers physical that customers can flock to. It'll be post Xbox imo

Definitely. It would be silly to not use the same one built for the slim already

Maybe the studios have been quietly working on Pro versions of their already released games.
Would much rather they were working on their next games though

No way this thing even exists
But if it does exist
I'm going to buy this"

You're not honestly predicting the PS5 pro won't play GTA VI better then the PS5 or the XSX, are you?

296d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

So your premise is that the PS5 Pro doesn't have special hardware to do the DLSS-like magic that the Nvidia cards do? And Nvidia is secretly keeping DLSS from working on non-RTX cards as well?
It takes custom hardware to do that real time. This isn't some simple upscaling algorithm

Amen. Hope this sends a message. Back to basics please

When the next GTA comes out this is gonna be the best hardware to play it on. PS may just clean up with this

Without exclusives it'll be even more painfully obvious that Xbox's main competitor can play a lot more games than Xbox . With more bells and whistles, and soon at higher frame rates and resolution if the rumors are true. Xbox's only positive product differentiator is GamePass which has ballooned to $240/year. A Walmart proposition with Macy's pricing.
I don't know about "faith", but I'm guessing the downward spiral will accelerate at this point. I g...

I think there's only backlash from us console warriors/enthusiasts that picked the losing side, which is a minority of gamers.
For the rest of the population, they will calmly continue to make buying decisions that are best for them and their family. They won't be mad, they simply won't be buying Xboxes.

I agree without consoles GamePass currently has no base - I think that's why they're pushing streaming and PC.
I don't get what you're saying though - if they want to retain a large portion of that base with the next console, it needs to be in the $500 or less range. I think you're saying the expensive one won't compete with consoles so that's going to be a niche market, right? And handhelds (outside of Nintendo) are niche as well... so how do they retain ...
