I mean.... It would be the end of Xbox.
But at least you'll have a way to play the games you've paid for on new hardware
That's almost certainly going to be the highlight (PSSR).
Would be pretty wild if they found a way to bring PSSR to existing consoles... Doubt they could, but...maybe?
Brand New account? Wonder who operator one is...
I doubt he ever got that far lol
So are PC players desperate when a new series of graphics cards come out every year?
We like graphical upgrades too... That doesn't make us desperate
C'mon, no handheld is being announced tomorrow
Seeing how incredible DLSS is with Nvidia, if it approaches that, it'll be worth it. AMD has been woefully behind in this area. DLSS is so good it practically negates the need for full 4K rendering.
Isn't this the foundation for your next Xbox?
This is exactly what some of us have been talking about...a way to bridge existing console users into a Xbox branded PC
They're not copying MS strategy in slow motion - these are completely different scenarios imo.
PS has always pushed exclusives but likely got distracted by Live Service which interrupted their pipeline and gave us this relatively slow period. (Remember Spiderman 2 just came out last year BTW)
MS wanted to dominate with exclusives first by making them (failed) then by buying them (failed) until they couldn't justify the cost anymore. So they're stepping away from ...
I don't recall a Chinese-based game developer ever penetrating the market like this. Good on 'em.
So you won't be playing games for a handful of years?
If I can get $300 for my OG PS5, even a $600 PS5 Pro only sets me back by about $300-$350.
That seems pretty reasonable for an upgrade that could significantly improve FPS in games...
i'm the same way. i want to say no as i have a PC with a 3080 already, but there will be that one game that i want to look its best
Nothing like 5 more bumps to the head to teach a lesson
Even if it wouldn't have been the next Call of Duty, it would have satisfied the PlayStation faithfuls and hardcore LoU fans. That would be a better outcome than this
Here's to hoping their live service strategy does with it
I think you're right, it's gotta be a series of things. I can't tell how much of it is "planned" as part of their cost cutting layoffs and console strategy vs. plain old incompetence. Either way it's not trending in the right direction.
I don't think they'll ditch physical until there's no competition left that offers physical that customers can flock to. It'll be post Xbox imo
Definitely. It would be silly to not use the same one built for the slim already
Making a point that you can build a more powerful PC is just restating the obvious. If you could do it cheaper than the console costs it would be an interesting point
