When the X1 drops to $199, it will recover a bit. X1X won't really make much of a dent. All I want an X1 for is Forza. I play everything else on my PS3 or PS4, and I actually play at least as much on my PS3 as I do on my PS4. Seems to me like this current generation has gotten off to a relatively slow start. Ps5's announcement won't likely be until next year with a 2019 debut and I would expect Xbox Two will follow the same schedule. So PS5 won't be competing with X1X, but the X2.

While there have been some good games, for better or worse, I think the various publisher's attentions are a bit more fragmented due to the rise of mobile gaming.
This is basically the way MS has been for the past 20+ years. They've had a stranglehold on the PC business market since the early days of the PC, but that is now beginning to change. By next year, IDC estimates 25% of the Fortune 500 will have IT support for Chromebooks. Which is good, since Chromebook's share of the U.S. education market is around 50%. People now finally have alternatives, and they're abandoning MS in droves. You reap what you sow.
PS5 2019
Assuming there's at least one exclusive on each console, sure. That being said, I'm not in a rush to get any other consoles besides my PS3 & PS4. Not seeing anything I'm interested in trying on the Switch. I'll probably buy a X1 after the price drops a bit more just to try the new Forza titles.
They should either concentrate on releasing a next gen console or give up.
X1X is just too expensive - it isn't worth the extra $100 for most.
Considering you can get the PS4 Pro for $100 less, yeah, it's pretty bad.
The problem is comparing it to current consoles. It might have better specs than the PS4 Pro, but when you compare the graphics, not really enough of a difference (if any) to justify spending $100 more for most folks. And its TWICE the cost of the base X1, again with not much of an improvement in graphics for most folks.

Best console ever. PS4 is good, but not (yet) as versatile as the PS3. Still looking forward to new Gran Turismo titles when they eventually debut on PS4.
