The basic point I'm trying to make is about throwing money away when it isn't necessary. I'm not trying to say people shouldn't buy anything that they enjoy, but look at each purchase rationally and don't get caught up in hype. Realistically, if you look at comparison videos of gameplay for the same game on the S and X, the X footage looks a little better, but certainly not twice as good, so spending twice as much for the X for most is a real waste. It's really only...
The sad thing is many of the people that will buy this are living paycheck to paycheck, and will continue making bad choices throughout their entire lives, and will reach retirement age with little (if any) anything put away for retirement. Be smart & rational folks - don't buy hype. Because Madison Avenue doesn't give a damn about you whatsoever. They just want to take as much as they can get out of you. Buyer beware.
Yeah, it's a little better than the S, but realistically, not twice as good. So for the rational, really not worth spending twice as much.
Realistically, looking at the comparison videos I've seen, there really doesn't seem to be that much of a difference graphically between games running on the S and those on the X. They look a little better on the X, and that's about it. Certainly not worth spending literally twice as much for, especially since XB2 will probably debut in 2019.
Not really needed - just use a smartphone or small tablet.
I was looking forward to Gran Turismo Sport until it became clear that there will be essentially no single player campaign mode. Have been a huge fan of this game series and Playstation, but it may be time to jump ship now. :-(
Everybody's Golf looks a little dry to me. I might give it a try if they release a demo though. Have you tried Infinite Minigolf? I think it's only $15 and a lot of fun.
Again, I think buying either upgraded console is pretty pointless, but comparatively speaking, you'd only be paying a 1/3 premium for the Pro, but you have to spend literally double for the X compared to the S. If UHD is a big deal to a few, that's fine, but they could simply buy a separate UHD player for $150 or less. Realistically, most people don't use physical media anymore to watch videos.
It's basically for people with more money than sense who don't understand the value of a dollar and/or for fanboys/rubes who can be suckered into buying anything new and shiny a company dangles in front of them.
Yes and no. I think buying the upgraded consoles for slightly better performance is pretty silly myself, but at least as far as the PS4 Pro is concerned, it's only a $100 premium over the standard PS4. On the other hand the X is literally twice the price of the S for only slightly better performance, so that really seems like an incredible waste of money, especially since both the PS5 and XB2 will probably debut in 2019.
Agreed, definitely not a negligible purchase unless you're a multi-millionaire or billionaire, and most people don't get wealthy by being careless with their money. The X might be a little better than the S, but does it make sense to spend literally twice as much for the X, especially since the next gen is probably only a couple of years away? For anyone who understands the value of a dollar, the answer would be no. I'll be buying a S during Black Friday/Cyber Monday for $200 o...
It may not be DOA, but I would expect sales to drop off dramatically after initial release. Really a very bad waste of money spending twice as much for something that will only be a little better than the Xbox One S (and more than twice as much on Black Friday/Cyber Monday when XB1S will likely be discounted to $200 or less). Especially since Xbox Two will probably debut in 2019. A fool and his money...
According to all the reports, you're likely to be disappointed.
Can't imagine this is going to be a big seller - GT Sport is a disappointment for many.
Boycott
I think most of the Sony sale prices are also available on the Playstation Store as well. No Man's Sky is available for the same sale price on the PS Store as Amazon.
I'm hoping there will still be a GT7, but it's not looking encouraging.
That's a big part of the concern: there have been statements from Kaz that seem to indicate that there never will be a GT7.
Why not? Let the market decide. One person's trash is another person's treasure. The more choices and diversity, the better.
I think that's overstating it a bit. And understand, I'm not referring to specs, because as nice as specs are on paper, it's what's on the screen that matters. And from the comparison videos I've seen of footage from the same game on the S and X, the X footage looks a little better, but not twice as good.
