This is a B.S. article. It's simply a developer guessing what he thinks the next generation will be like. IF there is another generation of Playstation & Xbox (which certainly isn't guaranteed), I would assume it will involve VR at a minimum and probably be all digital, at least for the standard base units. Optical disk drives might be an optional extra, but I'd be really surprised if games will still be released on disks by the time a next generation rolls around (which I&...
Looks like lots of good racing titles on the way this year - finally! :-)
There are significant portions of the map you're blocked off from that you apparently have access to in the XB1 version. And it didn't really feel like they made any kind of real improvements - just a rehash of FH1 in a different locale. Needed more variety in events - Real Racing 3 on mobile actually has more variety in types of events. We'll see how they do in FH3.
FH2 on 360 was a bit of a let down for me - I hope FH3 will be better. I'm guessing it will probably only be on XB1 which I don't have at this point, so I'll miss out on it for now.
Thought I saw that there were missions/a story, but that they're optional. Is there something wrong with infinite exploration for its own sake?
I would agree that the next generation will probably have to be sooner rather than later with new competition on the way from Nintendo NX as well as Android & iOS mini-consoles (take a look at Emtec's $99 GEM box which was shown at CES for a peek at the future). I don't know if PS5 will be exclusively digital - I think it's more likely there will be a base unit w/o optical, with an optional external optical via USB.
IF they can wait that long. We're going to start seeing annual updates of Apple TV and Android-based gaming set top boxes from now on - see Emtec's $99 GEM box featured at CES for a look at the future. These mini-consoles are just going to get more powerful each year, and will likely become the main players in the years ahead.
Traditional disc-based consoles will probably start to decline before too much longer. Besides all the competition from phones and tablets, set top boxes like the new Apple TV & Amazon's Fire TV can offer decent gaming experiences and be updated much more frequently, and at significantly lower price points. Emtec is showing the $99 Android-based GEM box at CES which includes a remote w/built-in keyboard and a separate gamepad which will play Android games and run Android apps, strea...
Any Gran Turismo title PLEASE
Probably the most disappointing game of the year for me, which is a shame because it looks great.
Personally, I would love PS2 emulation on my PS4.
Gran Turismo 3 & 4
If they drop the price down to $100, I might buy one.
What part of his comment did you not understand? You can store and play all of your media on the PS3, and it can rip CDs as well. You can download PSP & Vita games. Obviously PS3 has a lot more games released to date than PS4 - certainly a lot more racing games on PS3. None of the racing games on PS4 have been what I would consider to be truly great. Hopefully that will change with Gran Turismo Sport. And you can make your own custom background on the PS3. PS4 is still early in its...
I like the new design.
I'm very thankful to N4G for all of the gaming news you provide to us.
Although the game certainly isn't anywhere near perfect by any stretch, I am having a lot of fun with it for now. Looking forward to Sébastian Loeb Rally Evo, Gran Turismo Sport & Trackmania Turbo next year.
Gran Turismo 3 & 4
Nice! Would love to have the Tropics theme on my Chromebox.
No thanks. The only XB1 exclusives I'm mildly interested in are the Forza titles, and it isn't worth shelling out $300+ just for that. The new set top boxes that can also play games from Amazon, Apple & Google are a more tempting value since some of these can be bought for as little as $50 and can still offer some fairly decent & fun gaming.
