I think GTS looks slightly better/more detailed, but overall, they both look great.
The driving mechanics are great as expected, and the livery editor is really nice as well. The main thing now is for them to add more cars and tracks. And an improved course maker similar to what they had in GT6 and/or an open area to drive/race in would be great. It has the potential to be epic if they make the effort.
True, there isn't a pre-formatted single player campaign, but you can basically set up your own custom daily career with the custom races in arcade mode, and all of those races earn you in-game credits. The main thing now is for them to add more cars and tracks. And an improved course maker similar to what they had in GT6 and/or an open area to drive/race in would be great.
Except PC2 doesn't run worth a damn - buggy as hell. Only kept it a few days before trading it in. At least GTS works.
Yeah, just SLIGHTLY biased. Obviously, many will disagree with this author. From what I've read, neither title is perfect - they both have their respective issues. I have played GTS and like it a lot. Haven't played FM7 yet - planning on picking it up next month. I'm sure it will be lots of fun as well. Between these two, it's simply going to be a matter of a particular gamer's preferences.
I do like the game, but it's far from perfect. There's a serious lack of content in terms of cars and tracks, the driving line available in the game is static and not dynamic like it used to be in previous GT games, and you can't currently edit the in-game music playlist. The game in general needs work, but it's still one of the more enjoyable racing titles this generation.
If you can afford it, both. I've always preferred GT over past Forza titles myself - the AI in Forza always came across as a little too aggressive, like it was trying to engage in a demolition derby more than a race. But to be fair, I haven't yet tried out the current gen Forza titles (previously, I only owned a 360). Next month, I'm finally planning on getting a X1S during Black Friday-Cyber Monday, and expect to get it for $200 or less. Really looking forward to trying out F...
I'm pretty sure they've said previously there won't be microtransactions, so I'm assuming all DLC will be free. And it plays great with a controller.
Don't race online - it's not a requirement. Stick with the Arcade mode with the custom races. You can set up any kind of race you want on any track with any car and still earn in-game credits. This is what I'll be doing virtually non-stop. :-)
Downloading it now - can't wait to get underway.
Looking forward to lots of additions over time. Hoping they also add a course maker, maybe an open environment to drive in, and options like spoilers, body kits, etc.
I'd pass on all 6. Forza is the only thing I can think of worthwhile on XB1.
Before I tried the demo, wasn't sure I would be buying this installment in the series as I don't like to race online. Thankfully, you can race offline to your heart's content in arcade mode and earn as much in-game credit as you want to buy cars & upgrades. Main question now is: buy the game as a digital purchase or buy the disc? I love digital and not having to swap out discs when I want to play a different game, but the demo alone took me about a day and a half to downloa...
Don't know if I'll buy this day one, but probably will at some point. I was concerned about the lack of a traditional single player campaign, but you can race whatever you want in arcade mode for credits, so that works for me. Not as many car upgrades as in previous installments, but at least you can reduce the weight, enhance the power, and select any tires you want at a moment's notice. Livery editor looks great - that should be lots of fun. They just need to work on address...
Depends on what you like. The only PS4 exclusive I've been waiting for was GT Sport, and unfortunately, the demo of the game has been a bit of buggy mess. Beyond GT, there aren't really any compelling exclusives for me. There's really isn't anything on Switch that interests me. To their credit, the teams behind the Forza games have continued to polish their titles and innovate gameplay beyond anything that GT has done (and I'm a longtime GT fan). So at this point (for...
Sounds good. I watched a fair amount of livery editor video last night - looks pretty impressive.
Sounds good guys - thanks for the replies. I was discouraged before, but hearing this input and seeing some of the gameplay videos online is making me feel a lot more optimistic. Trying to download the demo now - dammit to heck my slow internet!
"cut-down version"
"without a huge number of career events to complete"
This has been my concern all along, that as good as it looks and probably plays, there's really a limited amount of content to keep us busy. So even though they're promoting it as a full game, it sounds more like a Prologue of sorts...
What's the livery editor like? Can you import your own art to use on cars?
Ok, if the PS4 isn't for you and you like your PC, then by all means, enjoy your PC. Personally, I have no issue with the quality of games on my PS4, and I'm not noticing any bad quality on XB1 games either, which is good since I'm planning on picking up a X1S next month. Ultimately, developers will spend what they need to in order to produce good games, or they will perish. Same as any other business - there will always be winners and losers.
