XDefiant How to Turn Off Crossplay

By default, XDefiant is a Crossplay game, but if players want to play only against others on their platform, this feature can be turned off. Although Crossplay is a great feature in modern games, not everyone is thrilled at the prospect of playing against opponents on other gaming platforms. Luckily, Ubisoft’s new shooter offers players an easy way to toggle this feature on and off. XDefiant offers the option to customize Crossplay even further, and only play against players that are using the same input (controller or mouse/keyboard).

How to Turn Off Crossplay in XDefiant

As mentioned before, Crossplay is enabled by default in XDefiant, and if players want to turn it Off they will have to do it manually. XDefiant supports crossplay across all platforms the game is released on, which is generally a good thing. Moreover, the use of the Crossplay feature means there are more players in the lobby at all times. That directly translates to faster matchmaking and shorter queue times.

However, if you don’t want to play against other platforms, there is a way to turn Crossplay off. To do this, simply go into Settings, and under the Matchmaking and Account tab, switch Crossplay Off. This will turn off this feature, and XDefiant will use only your platform for future matchmaking purposes.

Keep in mind that turning the Crossplay option Off can lead to longer match searches. This can occur if the current player count is low on your chosen platform at the moment. Luckily, the Crossplay feature can be turned back On at any time.

How to Change Input-Based Matchmaking in XDefiant

XDefiant’s Input-Based Matchmaking option is a way to customize the Crossplay feature and only play against opponents who are using the same input system as you. This means that if a player is using a controller, they will only matched against other controller users. In the Matchmaking and Account tab, under Settings, players can find the option to change the Input-Based Matchmaking to On or Off.
