Due to the immense popularity XDefiant gathered, players have shown up in big numbers for its launch, and this can cause problems, like the “Unable to Find Match” error message.

This is a normal thing nowadays, as online game launches are turbulent. No matter the amount of testing that is done, there is nothing that can prepare the game servers for day one. Luckily, developers are usually quick to resolve errors like this one. In the meantime, there are ways you can try to fix it yourself.

How to Fix the “Unable to Find Match” Error in XDefiant

An error like “Unable to Find Match” in an online game usually indicates a server problem. This happens close to the game’s launch most of the time, and developers quickly find and fix these kinds of errors. With that said, if you are continuously experiencing this error, there are a couple of ways to fix it and return to gaming as quickly as possible.

Check Server Status

Usually, errors concerning match finding are related to server issues, either the servers are down, or something else causes the problems. Checking the server status is the best starting point in situations like this. The game servers can be down from time to time, usually for maintenance but sometimes they can crash due to the overload on their part.

Using the official social platforms for the game will quickly clarify if XDefiant’s servers are down. Unfortunately, if the game servers are down there is nothing to be done but wait.

Restart the Game

Glitches and bugs can be the cause of errors like this one and will prevent you from playing. Luckily, resetting XDefiant, or the platform you are playing the game on, can quickly resolve this. Simply close down the game fully, or restart your platform before trying to play the game again.

Restart Router

Because online games require a stable internet connection to play, problems with it, or a weak connection, can cause errors like this. Restarting your router will establish a fresh internet connection and it can be a way to fix these kinds of errors. Simply unplug your router from its power source and wait a minute or two before plugging it back in. After the router fully boots up, you should try playing XDefiant again.

Verify the Integrity of Game Files

If nothing we mentioned above worked, the issue might be caused by missing or corrupt game files. Verifying game files using a Ubisoft Connect Launcher will fix this and you can return to playing.

Open the Ubisoft Connect Launcher and locate XDefiant in your Library. Then, click on the three dots located next to the play icon to select Verify Files. It might take a couple of minutes for the launcher to locate and replace any missing or corrupt files, after which you can return to gaming as normal.
