Wondering how to change clothes in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet? We’ve got you covered. Keep reading for everything you need to know about clothing options, accessories, hairstyling, and more.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet brought a lot to the table when they were first released, including the first open-world map in mainline installments and three questlines to complete as you play through the main story in either title. However, the new entries snubbed clothing options, which were much more extensive in past main titles. The look of your school uniform can get pretty old, so you’ll likely want to change your outfit and accessories somewhere down the line.

Fortunately, this can be done — for the most part. Scarlet and Violet have implemented some serious improvements to the franchise’s character creation feature while pulling back on one major aspect of customization. Here’s what you can do to change your appearance in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

You can buy clothes and accessories from various shops in Mesagoza, Cascarrafa, and Levincia. What’s sold in each shop is pretty easily recognized by their storefront display, but you can also check your map to determine the name and supply of each shop. You can alter your hairstyle by visiting Salon Renacer in Scarlet and Violet. Identified by a scissors icon on your map, the salon can be found in Mesagoza, Cascarrafa, and Levincia. Once you reach one of these locations, go inside and speak with the hairstylist NPC at the front desk, who will offer Hairstyling for 3,000 Poké Dollars. This will allow you to change your avatar’s hairstyle and hair color.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet certainly present a toss-up when it comes to character customization. While there are less clothing options to choose from, you can alter your avatar’s appearance to a greater degree, allowing you to create a character that better resembles yourself or matches your starter Pokémon. Of course, you can also opt to make the coolest trainer possible on your path to becoming the Top Champion of Paldea.
