Do You Need Pokémon Scarlet and Violet to Get Both Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC Packs?
In short, no, you will not need to buy both Pokémon Scarlet and Violet in order to get your hands on the two-part DLC pack. This means you can further explore the Paldea region post-game through the downloadable content without two Switch consoles or both base games. This is similar to DLC for Sword and Shield.
As outlined on the Nintendo eShop, the two-part Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC pack is currently available to download. However, you’ll still need to be careful when purchasing, as you’ll need to select the correct version-exclusive bundle for the game you own.
To avoid purchasing a bundle that’s incompatible with your version of the game, be sure to look for the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC bundle that specifies its compatibility with either Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet.
