The release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is almost here, and fans the world over are getting ready to dive in. Initial reviews for the game have been glowing, and it looks like EA’s decision to stick to next-gen consoles for this title may pay off. With all this hype, new players may be looking to jump into the game, but many may not know where to get started.

There have been several Star Wars games that have come out over the past few years, and many know that there is another title in the Star Wars Jedi series, Fallen Order.

Knowing how the series works is paramount to enjoying it, as there is a large narrative component to the titles. This guide will let players know where Jedi Survivor slots into the series, and where they’ll need to start to get into the Star Wars Jedi series.

Does Jedi Survivor Come Before or After Fallen Order?

Jedi Survivor is the sequel to Fallen Order and takes place five years after the events of Fallen Order. Players will follow the same cast of characters, playing as Jedi Knight Cal Kestis as he seeks to rebuild the Jedi Order in the aftermath of Order 66.

Do You Need To Play Fallen Order Before Playing Jedi Survivor?

While it isn’t required, it is highly recommended.

Nothing the player does in Fallen Order carries over to Jedi Survivor. As such, players will start in the same situation in Jedi Survivor regardless of whether they played Fallen Order or not.

That said, the series has a very heavy narrative component. While it is not required for players to play Fallen Order, it would still be in their best interest to at least acquaint themselves with the narrative, either through plot summaries or recorded playthroughs.
