Helldivers 2 Players Fear More Future Nerfs Because of a Comment Made by the CEO

Most players know that Helldivers 2 has hit a rough patch. Fortunately, not only is the next patch being tested, but the devs announced its release date, as well as the 60-day roadmap. Still, some players insist you shouldn’t get your hopes up. Apparently, the Arrowhead CEO recently made a comment that might have insinuated more nerfs were coming to Helldivers 2.

The CEO Made a Comment About Balancing

In light of the recent controversy, it seems that the Arrowhead employees have been more active and doing damage control on social media. The CEO of Arrowhead, Shams Jorjani, is probably the most devoted to this cause, as he daily answers dozens of players’ questions.

On September 4, Jorjani answered some questions on Discord. When asked about future balancing decisions, he offered an interesting answer. The CEO said: “Let’s see what the blog post and patch notes say. The trick is making weapons feel powerful (yay) but the game not be too easy (boo) – maybe more dangerous enemies? Maybe squishier divers? Let’s see what the team pulls together for you”.

Since this answer was kind of cryptic, the players were quick to assume the worst. Mike_Zacowski noted: “So… are they going to nerf something anyways? I just can’t. They’re still thinking about nerfing something only because you can’t be powerful enough to have fun”.

Will Helldivers 2 Players Get More Nerfs, or Was it Just Sarcasm?

The Arrowhead CEO put the nerfs on many Helldivers 2 players’ minds with his comment. The one thing that seems to have bothered the community the most was the “squishiness” of Helldivers. Many players insisted that they were already struggling with survival.

M-Bug stated: “Squishier Divers? We’re already falling like leaves in the wind”. Other players added they were already tripping over everything. The positive side to this is that if you’ve already died from tripping and falling over, ragdolling wouldn’t be such an issue.

Now, bear in mind, that it’s possible that the CEO’s comment was just wildly misunderstood, as he might have just wanted to tease the divers. OmegaXesis suggested: “I think there’s been a little misunderstanding – he’s just using sarcasm to keep things light. If you check the discord, he’s just finding ways to kite around people asking him to spill what’s coming out in the future updates”.

As a reminder, the devs have already delivered a patch that brought nerfs instead of buffs, so we’d advise some cautious optimism. While you wait for the patch, why don’t you join us in the Jin Xi Sector? Joel gave the players an exciting new Stratagem for the latest Major Order. For Super Earth and Managed Democracy.
