Have you tried out the new temporary Stratagem? If you haven’t, be sure to do it soon, as at the time of writing this article, only around 10 hours are left for the players to use the Orbital Napalm Barrage. Helldivers failed the previous MO, so Joel decided to give them a taste of what they’d missed out on during the duration of the current Major Order. Who would’ve guessed that the new Stratagem would refuel the players’ hope for the future of Helldivers 2?
Helldivers Still Hope for a Bright Future
You are probably aware of all the controversy and the drama currently surrounding Helldivers 2. While devs have a plan to fix the issues, many players have experienced burnout and took a break from the game. Some even decided to leave the game permanently.
Well, as the update approaches, some players have decided to show that they still support their favorite game. Even though there is a lot that needs to be fixed, some players, like Mehhehneh, have high hopes. This player noted: “I am still excited for the future of Helldivers 2. Arrowhead has their heart in the right place”.
The players praised Arrowhead because they didn’t “retire” older content, or locked the old Warbonds. As you know, participating in all events is also free, so the players aren’t separated by those who pay to play and those who don’t.
One player, jerkcore, stated: “There are a few bugs to iron out, sure. But getting hostile & derogatory won’t fix them. Over-simplifying them won’t help, either. So much drama. I’ll use what I use, whether it’s nerfed or not”.
The New Stratagem Brought Back the Fun
Interestingly, the timing of this rising hope for the future of Helldivers 2 coincides with the addition of a temporary Stratagem. It seems this addition was exactly what the players needed to kick-start their wishes for the future.
Aspharr explained: “The hype around the Napalm Barrage is the best indicator of what people want from this game. Fire. Explosion. Big area covered. Looks dope. Kills almost everything in it. It is overtuned as hell and people love it. Doesn’t mean everything needs to be exactly like this but it certainly shows, what the players of this game enjoy the most”.
Sabatat- added: “All people want is fun. The barrage is fun, fun to use, fun to watch, it’s just fun. I said it before but if they would just give us fun things, people would be more willing to tolerate all the bad parts but the game as a whole would still be a fun time”.
We agree, in all honesty. Most players play Helldivers 2 after a long day at work, or school. They want a game that will help them relax and unwind. What better way to do it if not by squishing some bugs and destroying some bots with huge weapons?
