Helldivers 2 sold millions of copies already, both for PlayStation and PC, and the number of active players keeps increasing. Arrowhead Game Studios, the developers behind the game, have not expected that number of players in such a short time. This is both good and bad, as their third-person shooter proved to be just what the community wanted, but now they have to deal with overcrowded servers. They already increased their server cap recently, as a quick solution, but even that is not enough to regulate the tide of new Helldiver recruits, ready to defend the galaxy and Super Earth. And once again, servers are at their capacity. So, let’s see if we can and how to fix the “Servers at capacity” error in Helldivers 2.
How to Fix “Servers at Capacity” Error in Helldivers 2
There is not much you can do if the servers are overcrowded and at their full capacity. The best solution we can give you is just to wait it out. Arrowhead are quite dedicated to their game and are resolving server errors daily, but if the servers are full, there are not a lot of things you can do to bypass that. But, there are a couple of workarounds you can try:
- Check the server status – first, check if the servers are down. If that is the case, there is nothing much you can do. Maybe a hotfix or server maintenance is underway, so we just have to wait it out. Official Helldivers 2’s X community page (formerly Twitter) is a good place to check this. Helldivers 2 official Discord server is also a great place for the latest news and updates.
- Try Logging in again – it is irritating, but force-quitting the game (using Alt + F4 if necessary) and logging in again can sometimes get you in. Try this a couple of times.
- Turn off your VPN – in the case you are using a VPN, try turning it off. Turning it off or switching to another country has solved this issue for some players. We are still unsure if the capacity is regulated by region, but no harm in trying.
- Verify the integrity of game files – it may happen that some files became bugged. If none of the solutions worked, and the servers are up and running, try verifying the integrity of game files. Right-click with your mouse on Helldivers 2 in your Steam Library, and go to Properties. Click on Installed Files and then on the Verify Integrity of Game Files button. Once it is done, try playing Helldivers 2 again.
- Enlist in the Helldivers and join the fight for freedom across a hostile galaxy in a fast, frantic, and ferocious third-person shooter.
- Become a Legend – You will be assembled into squads of up to four Helldivers and assigned strategic missions. Watch each other’s back – friendly fire is an unfortunate certainty of war, but victory without teamwork is impossible.
- Loadouts – Rain down freedom from above, sneak through enemy territory, or grit your teeth and charge head-first into the jaws of combat. How you deliver liberty is your choice; you’ll have access to a wide array of explosive firepower, life-saving armour and battle-changing stratagems… the jewel in every Helldiver’s arsenal.
- Requisition – Super Earth recognises your hard work with valuable Requisition. Use it to access different rewards that benefit you, your squad, your destroyer ship and our overall war effort.
- Threats – Everything on every planet wants you dead. That’s what we’re dealing with. Each enemy has distinct and unpredictable characteristics, tactics, and behaviour – but they all fight ferociously and without fear or morality.
What Is the “Servers at Capacity Error”?
The “Servers at capacity” error means that the servers are at their full capacity, ie, there are no more slots open for other players until someone leaves. Usually, this issue is completely on the servers’ side, and the best course of action is to wait it out. The number of logins is greater than the server’s capacity and the login limit is reached in no time. Despite the best efforts from the devs, servers are constantly full. That and server stability is slowly but surely becoming the biggest issue of Helldivers II.
If none of these workarounds helped, we can only recommend waiting it out. Due to the game’s popularity, servers are usually at their full capacity on weekends, especially weekend evenings. So, playing at some time, with fewer concurrent players, should have no issues.
