It hasn’t been even a full week and Helldivers 2 is at the top of Steam’s Global Top Sellers list. Developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by none other than Sony Interactive Entertainment, Helldivers 2 became a real hit. It seems that every citizen of Earth has that patriotic note inside of them, so thousands and thousands of players already enlisted for service in the Galactic War. We’re doing our part.
Helldivers 2 Proved to be Too Hot to Handle
The game proved to be such a huge success that it even caused some server errors, resulting in emergency live maintenance. During the server maintenance, Arrowhead increased their server capacity and performance by almost 50%. But even then, they were not prepared for the tide of players waiting to log in once again.
This combination of war satire inspired by works such as Starship Troopers, and incredibly engaging and fun co-op gameplay proved to be what the gaming community really wants. So much so that the developers are a little overwhelmed at the moment. And that is an understatement.
The CEO of Arrowhead, Johan Pilestedt, posted on X (formerly Twitter): “With the success of Helldivers 2, we are going to start looking for more amazing developers that can help us accelerate and beef up our content plans. Jobs will be going up soon, but if you are a senior dev there’s always the ‘open application’. Enlist today with Arrowhead GS.”
Arrowhead Game Studios Calls for Help
Up to this point, the only way of helping out the Galactic War against the Terminids and The Automaton Collective, is by being a Helldiver in-game. Now, a new enlistment is live. Would you like to know more?
At the moment of writing, there are 10 open positions in Arrowhead Game Studios, all of them based in Stockholm, Sweden. The positions in question are:

- Build Engineer – Tech Foundation
- Game Programmer – Tech Foundation
- Fullstack Engineer
- Backend Engineer
- Site Reliability Engineer
- IT Engineer
- Production Director Helldivers 2
If you see yourself serving Super Earth in one of these positions, be sure to apply as soon as possible. However, even if not, it’s good to see that the devs are looking to expand and commit to supporting their game.
We can only say that it’s great to see gaming studios having unexpected success with their games. This can only inspire them to keep providing us with quality content.
