Patch 3 for Hades 2 early access dropped on June 27, and the first reviews are in. Players suspect that there won’t be another one for a while, so it is important to them that this one fixes all the major problems. Oh, boy, did it deliver. Initial reactions are mostly great, but you know that you can always expect some new bugs to emerge and annoy the players.

Most of the Hades 2 Players Left Glowing Reviews

The players didn’t hold back with the praise for this patch. RandyZ524 raved: “Love to see such active and experimental balancing going on. SSG overall seems to have a good pulse on the game’s current meta and it’s nice that they’re simultaneously buffing a lot while nerfing adequately at the same time”.

Truth be told, Patch 3 really surprised a lot of fans with the buffs. Most of the players expected the balancing to tip the scales toward increasing the difficulty of the game, most probably by additionally nerfing everything. The developers decided to go the other way and make Hades 2 more fun for everyone.

One player, what-are-you-a-cop, explained: “It’s funny, I’m not the best player in the world, so I was really in a rush to complete all the testaments on all the weapons before the latest patch since I assumed the changes to boons would mostly make things harder. It’s fun to feel powerful and it’s cool that I can turn the fear up if I want more challenge”.

Ryan_Luna said: “Persephone just became my favorite Aspect after this patch. The fact that you can charge up with any cast damage + all the cast buffs make it so much fun”. GenderGambler noted: “Hestia’s Regen Boon is fantastic with the torches – like, “better than born again” fantastic, especially at higher rarities”.

Some Fans Claim That Patch 3 Ruined Some Loveable Features

We all know that patches usually come with some issues, intentional or not. Well, this patch is no different. Players were heartbroken over some design changes. For example, did you know that it was a bug that Eris left Rubbish in the Crossroads, even while absent? We thought that detail was intentional, and so did many other players.

TheBadHalfOfAFandom noted: “Just thought Eris was just stopping in while I’m out, trashing up the place and then dipping out before I get back”. MasonP13 added: “Honestly, it’d be so much better if they added it back in. And added a scene where Eris leaves letters. Maybe one that is like “saw you picking up these wrappers last time I was here, so I thought I’d maybe leave you some more. -E”.

Another change that made waves was the one to Artemis’ White Antler. Now, it provides the Critical bonus for one Region but reduces the Life limit. SomethingOfAGirl complained: “Was this necessary? I get it makes it work for people who tend to play in a more conservative way, but I really hate keepsakes that only work for a limited time”.

One player, hookzhv, reported a serious bug. After the latest patch, Smithy Sprint, one of Hephaestus’ boons, was broken. OrbFromOnline stated: “Yeah so many things are so broken, and from the sound of things we won’t be getting another patch for at least a few months. Now is the time to play the game on easy mode”.

In our opinion, this patch is a huge step in the right direction. Sure, there will be an occasional bug or a change we dislike. We’d disregard the reviews and say that Patch 3 made Hades 2 more enjoyable. For us, that’s the important part. Nothing better than coming home after a long day and starting your favorite game.
