Marking enemies is a useful tool in any FPS. Let’s see how to Mark enemies in Fortnite.

If you are playing Duo or Squad in Fortnite, it is almost essential to know how to Mark enemies. You can show everyone who or what you are planning on attacking, to warn others of danger, where the weapons are, or anything else really. In addition, it tends to come up as a Challenge now and again. Note that some Challenges and Quests only count a specific method of Marking. So let’s see all the different ways to Mark enemies in Fortnite.

How to Mark Enemies in Fortnite?

There are a couple of ways to Mark enemies and locations in Fortnite. The easiest way is to simply place a Marker by putting the crosshair on the intended target and pressing the Middle Mouse Button (PC) or Left D-Pad (Consoles). It is useful to highlight locations and items, besides enemies. Bear in mind that usually, this does not count as Marking for the challenges.

Other methods of Marking are:

Claiming a Capture Point

There are Capture Points scattered over the Island. To claim one you simply have to stand near it (and survive) for about 45 seconds. Once that is done, you will receive some loot and any nearby enemies will be Marked.

There are Augments that can help you with Marking your enemies. In Chapter 4 Season 4, we have Bloodhound which Marks enemies hit by your Marksman Rifle or Bow shots for a short duration.

Falcon Scout

The most popular one, Falcon Scout is an Epic Utility item. When activated you control a falcon drone that flies around and has the option to Mark enemies near itself. Bear in mind that your Character is immobile while you are controlling the Falcon and thus vulnerable.
