Want to know how to get Metamorphosis in Diablo 4? Stick around. We’ll go over how to unlock this Vampiric Power and what it entails.
With the launch of Diablo 4 Season 2, players now have access to a long list of Vampiric Powers. Each can buff your build with stat boosts and unique abilities, so you’ll want to unlock as many of these powers as possible. However, gaining access to some is much more difficult than others. Even with heavy spending of Potent Blood, many players remain barred from Metamorphosis, just one of the newly available powers. This is because there’s another requirement that must be met in order to claim it. Here’s what you need to do to unlock this evasive Vampiric Power in the Season of Blood.
How to Unlock Metamorphosis in Diablo 4
To gain access to Metamorphosis, you’ll first need to complete the Serpent Cornered quest in Diablo 4. This entails traversing the City of Ancients and defeating Lord Zir. While straightforward and generally easy to beat, this quest can prove to be quite lengthy, even for seasoned players. Watch out for those Pools of Blood. That said, you’ll want to set some time aside to complete it in full and unlock the Vampiric Power as a reward for your efforts. Remember that all of this can only be accessed by a Seasonal Character.

How to Activate Metamorphosis in Diablo 4
Like other Vampiric Powers, you’ll need enough Pacts to activate Metamorphosis once you manage to unlock it in Diablo 4. You’ll notice these attributes attached to armor items (specifically Chest Armor, Helms, Pants, Boots, and Gloves, no Weapons) in the new season. You can collect as many drops as possible to better your odds of unlocking the desired Vampiric Power, but you also have the option to craft Pacts with the help of able Alchemists.
To finish the job, you’ll need:
- x2 Ferocity
- x2 Divinity
- x2 Eternity
What Does Metamorphosis Do in Diablo 4?
Metamorphosis is one of several Vampiric Powers introduced in Diablo 4 Season 2. Once unlocked, you can temporarily transform into a cloud of bats each time you evade an enemy in combat. What’s more, this form essentially grants you superhuman abilities, turning your character into an undead force to be reckoned with. For the duration of your transformation, your physical damage output is increased to 160% and you can inflict the Vampiric Curse effect onto your opponents.
It goes without saying this Vampiric Power is one worth unlocking on your Season of Blood playthrough. Be sure to complete the Serpent Cornered quest to gain these game-changing abilities. For more on Diablo 4, check out these additional guides from our team:
