Season of Blood is here and it brings some much-needed changes, balances, and a boatload of new content. You will need some Potent Blood to unlock and upgrade Vampiric Powers so let’s see how to get Potent Blood in Diablo 4.
Vampiric Powers are the focus of Season 2. They grant you new and powerful abilities when you scratch the surface of Season of Blood’s questline, but they require Potent Blood to unlock and upgrade. You’ll find Potent Blood just by adventuring, but let’s see what are the most efficient ways of doing so.

How To Farm Potent Blood in Season 2
You can get potent blood from Blood Harvest events, Seasonal Questlines, and by killing Monsters. The best way to farm Potent Blood is from the Blood Harvests. They are Helltide-like events in Season 2 where an area is infested with enemies. Fighting these enemies summons Blood Seekers who drop plenty of Potent Blood. They can also drop some powerful gear and Seeker Keys which you use to open Seeker Caches where you will find more Potent Blood. Blood Harvests are always active somewhere so this is the most efficient way of gathering Potent Blood.
Another way to get Potent Blood is by completing Seasonal quests. It is a guaranteed way of obtaining Potent Blood, but not a repeatable method. The last method is fighting, as every monster in Season 2 has a small chance of dropping some Potent Blood. It is quite an unreliable way, but as you will be fighting monsters left and right, it’s a bonus. Every little bit helps.
How To Use Potent Blood And Upgrade Vampiric Powers
Potent Blood is used to unlock a new random Vampiric Power and to upgrade an already existing one. Open your character menu, and from your Inventory, go to the Vampiric Powers tab. You will be taken to the Sanguine Circle screen. Near the bottom, you will see a Spend 25 Potent Blood button. This will give you a selection of three random Powers to unlock or upgrade. Note that if you don’t like your choices and try to cheat by closing the window, it will just unlock/upgrade one automatically. To upgrade Vampiric Powers, you will need to spend Potent Blood five times on it to get it to Level Two. As each use of the Spend Blood button costs 25 Potent Blood, that means that you need 125 Blood in total. A further 10 times (a further 250 Potent Blood in total) is required in order to max it out to Level 3. Both Minor Powers and Major Powers work in the same way, in regards to upgrading.
Remember that you need Pacts (Pact of Eternity, Pact of Ferocity, and Pact of Divinity) on your armor pieces (Helms, Gloves, Pants, Boots, and Chest Armors) for the Vampiric Powers to work. Minor Vampiric Powers require between one and three Pacts, while Major Vampiric Powers need six Pacts to work.
