What are the Counter Strike 2 system requirements? Counter-Strike fans are eager to get their hands on the limited test of Counter-Strike 2, the next iteration of the iconic series. CS2, which Valve has touted as “the largest technical leap forward in Counter-Strike’s history,” will change the way the game is played.
CS2 will ship this summer as a free upgrade to CS:GO, and will feature new volumetric smoke grenades, updated maps, a new server tick rate architecture, and more, all powered by the Source 2 engine. However, these new features come at a price: CS2 will have higher system requirements than CS:GO.

What are the Counter Strike 2 system requirements?
While Valve has not yet released the exact PC system requirements for CS2, we can speculate based on other titles such as Dota CS:GO.
Possible CS2 minimum requirements:
- Windows 10 64-bit
- Dual-core Intel or AMD processor at 2.8 GHz speed
- 4GB RAM
- Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 or Radeon HD 7750 graphics card
- 60GB storage space
With the minimum system requirements, players can expect to get around 60 FPS, with some drops around interactive elements such as Molotov fire or smoke grenades. For casual players, 60 FPS is plenty, but competitive players will need a more powerful rig.

- Core i5-7500 / Ryzen 5 1600 processor
- 12GB RAM
- GTX 1060 or RX 580 graphics card (at least 6GB VRAM)
- 60GB storage space
To get the most out of Counter Strike 2 system requirements, Valve recommends a Core i5-7500 / Ryzen 5 1600 processor, 12GB RAM, a GTX 1060 or RX 580 graphics card (at least 6GB VRAM), and 60GB of storage space. This setup will allow players to reach at least 144 FPS on low to medium graphics settings.
If you want to support a higher refresh rate, such as 240Hz, you will need to upgrade even further. While Source 2 is more efficient at using the GPU to improve performance, it still relies heavily on the CPU. So, if you can only upgrade one component, focus on getting the most powerful CPU you can afford.
