Battlefield 4 Night Operations Cinematic Trailer looks incredible

The official cinematic trailer for the Battlefield 4 Night Operations update looks incredible.

Hmm.. looks very interesting, might have to dust off BF4 :)

They've been experimenting with several maps with "night time" in CTE, along with remaking several Battlefield classic maps into BF4. Battlefield 4 is not going anywhere for awhile, even with Hardline out, and I'm happy about it. Recently, they released new 5 guns in a free update (including the return of the AN-94), showing how DICE LA has done justice for BF4 after the terrible PR it received post-launch

^but almost all of that has amounted to nothing. I'll give it that content wise the game is doing well nearly 2 years after release...

but...they lump all this content into quarterly updates, of which they always miss targets of needed fundamental networking features...They're STILL toiling over network improvements, trying to reduce fundamental bugs, reduce high ping advantages, server loads, etc...CTE has had these things nailed down for half a year, NONE of which have been able to be introduced to the vanilla game yet....they still introduce a few key balanced changes, while swinging sliders willy nilly that no one EVER asked for...its always 2 steps forward, 1.9 steps backwards...

its only natural that people begin to feel like they're still beta'ing a future game...they keep talking about stuff months away, if not longer (the community map being worked on since march, and the recently introduced huge massive yet-another-giant-8-flag-map most likely won't land until very late 2015 at the earliest)...player numbers continue to decline on all platforms...and it makes some of us wonder who they're even targeting with all this content.

I'm fine with added content overall, and frankly i'm surprised BF4 has had this much (the pessimistic side of me thinks that happened because of Hardline being such a massive flop on PC)...but content was never the side of BF4 that needed improvement; bf4 is one of the most bloated shooters in history...there are plenty of maps, too many weapons; a massive part of balance issues from the beginning, etc...they just need to reign in the whole thing with simple global adjustments to the entire game that fix some much needed issues.

I say that, but what i do i care haha. I gave up at the beginning of summer...and don't really have any interest in it regardless...and yes, i'll agree with the header...put 20 or so hours into the night maps, zavod was one of 3 tests at the time, and yeah...they do look incredible...but rest assured; its nothing but smoke/flir/IRNV's and night optics in vehicles...which people often use on day maps to begin with...it hardly changes the flow of the maps, they just look outstanding...

Battlefield 1, Hardline, BF4 Servers Are Being Taken Offline by Cheaters; EA Silent on Issue

Cheaters & hackers have been causing grief on Battlefield 1, Hardline & BF4 servers, with nonstop DDoS attacks among other things. Unfortunately, EA has remained silent about it.

-Foxtrot759d ago

Course they are silent, they are hoping people flock to 2042

gamesftw250759d ago

Maybe it was a inside job then haha.

jeromeface758d ago

wouldnt be the first time, titanfall 1+2 anyone?

PapaBop758d ago

Not even if they paid me.. EA always do this with old games with less money potential, if this was Ultimate Team, they'd address and sort it faster than stories could spread. Why invest time in their products when they will just dump it in the following years? Then again EA never could see the forest for the trees.

Inverno758d ago

I imagine after those games were given out for free a couple months back through Amazon, anything that makes people go to 2042 is a plus for them

XiNatsuDragnel759d ago

They want people to go on 2042. My theory

excaliburps759d ago

Nah. I think they can't do anything about it or they want to sink money into fixing it.

Pudge102888759d ago (Edited 759d ago )

EA owns all BF servers so yes, they can do something about it but they refuse to because they dont want ppl playing their old games instead of the new one. Its EA we’re talking about here

pr33k33759d ago

if this happened in 2042, they'd have something to say. which is weird, considering battlefield 1 has more players on steam right now.

Pudge102888759d ago

Its so obvious that EA is doing this or hired ppl to mess up the games so that we’d be forced to have just 1 Battlefield working.

FPS_D3TH758d ago

Honestly it’s probably the devs themselves. They did an update to bf4 way back that kinda made assault rifles doo doo in hopes that people would flock to BF1 cuz BF4 was too perfect

There's a bunch of great shooters on gamepass; both legacy and new.

A recommendation I have is a work in progress preview title called Anacrusis. It's a lot of fun, and has a cool aesthetic.

5 Games That Started Out As A Buggy Mess

KeenGamer: "Sometimes a game starts out as a buggy mess and we all just stop and think, “that definitely could have spent a bit more time in the oven”. This is the case for these 5 games which infamously marked their place in recent game memory."
