In the same realm it comes as no surprise that she’s following the planogram of Anita Sarkeesian, as well as Brianna Wu who have made it clear that they want more inclusive games created for women. Now lets break down why this does, and doesn't make sense and how they have contradicted themselves several times this month alone.

to this date no one knows how that thing even made it through Steam's greenlight. I mean, that game's practically a power-point presentation with a couple of "if" statements and that is it.

And to make it worse... It won a few awards only god knows how. Rumor has it that many of the judges were friends of her and even had money on her patreon.

I started dealing with depression a little over a year ago. I had Depression Quest recommended to me by a friend. I understand the reason it was made, but the options are ludicrous.

I didn't have depression UNTIL I played Depression Quest. Now I'm in therapy 5 days a week because I just cannot get past the fact that I'll never get back the 5 minutes I wasted on it. Those 5 minutes are gone man. They're just gone *sob*

Dammit. If people really want to deal with journalistic integrity in gaming they need to stop calling this stupid movement gamergate. Nothing in that title implies anything about journalistic corruption or ethics. Zoe Quinn isn't going anywhere because she keeps reinserting herself into areas where people forgot about her. God forbid we forget about Zoe Quinn, she'll have none of that, but GamerGate has LONG since moved passed her, which is why she's the original LW. Contrary to what the antis think, we want Zoe Quinn to go away, we don't care about her, but only so far as GamerGate is concerned. Whatever she does in her own life is no concern of anyone in GamerGate, I can guarantee that. Every time we stop talking about her, she opens her mouth trying to make herself a topic again. That's pretty sad and pathetic.

She can claim it as a statement of strength, a "you can't push me out of the community" stance, but that's not what it is. She will not let anyone forget about her, even when she's irrelevant. That's a stance of weakness, not of strength. She needs the attention, and she doesn't care how she gets it.

#Gamergate has some solid points, but posts and comment threads like this don't do the debate any favors. No one knows anything about her motives, and you can't just accuse her of boosting her own profile. That's like saying every Gamergater is sexist ("You're a bad person and your thoughts don't count.") The larger issue is that gamers need to start thinking more about what they play- maybe Candy Crush isn't "hardcore", but why are games just about challenge and suspense and violence?

The industry is becoming Hollywood, and look what happens now- Hollywood makes romantic comedies and you can get indie movies and foreign movies on Netflix, AND Marvel stuff gets a ton of attention. If the market gets bigger, that doesn't mean "hardcore" games get squeezed out. It means they can coexist as part of a big industry that doesn't get mocked or stigmatized, and lets slasher flicks and Pixar movies live under a huge tent.

I don't think everyone who supports #Gamergate is sexist, and I think that line of argument in the media is kind of troubling. That "Gamers are dead" thing was nasty.

But as a sort of by-stander (I read this site because it updates so quickly, I play video games, but I'm not a hardcore gamer, and I'm pretty liberal but not extreme), I have a serious question-

what kind of games are you guys defending? If Depression Quest and Candy Crush aren't it, because they're too casual, what kind are you defending? And why?

The first time I ever heard about this woman was when she supposedly slept with a guy for a favorable review. She's no prominent figure in the gaming industry and soon noone will care. She should enjoy the attention while people are actually listening because Gamergate is the flavor of the month. Pretty soon they will both be a sad little footnote in gaming's long and rocky history.

What she did was wrong and she has to be held accountable for her actions, but so do the guys that were participating in that ring of corruption, a lot of people are only blaming her for what happened; the guys are just as responsible as she is.

What is sad though, is that she has made it very difficult to feel sorry for her. I am disgusted by the attacks and threats on some of these women, I wish the circumstances were different.

But when they say such aggravating blanket statements that paint the whole community as thugs, then they close the doors to any sympathy that could normally come their way.

One thing is for sure, I don't think many will be investing in any of her projects from here on out.
