Which Controller Is The Loudest? Sounding Off On Controller Noise

Game Informer: "Recently, while making my way through Infamous Second Son as the rest of my household was asleep, I could distinctly hear my controller echoing through the house. It wasn't from the speaker built into the controller I always forget is there that periodically emits noise to remind you of its existence, but rather the clicking of the shoulder buttons. It seemed louder than any controller I could recall. The same seemed true of the Xbox One controller. In a silent house with the television volume turned low, I felt like I could hear the clicking of buttons and tapping of control sticks more than I could in the past. I decided to take initiative and find out if the latest controllers were truly louder, or if I was just imaging things."

ps4 control is louder than xbone, cant that console win at anything?

Savsky3555d ago

It is winning in sales, and better exclusives (in my opinion). But I'll be at the Master Chief Collection release. I just prefer my PS4.

jimjam34423555d ago

halo is a dying franchise. its creators have moved on. i bet xbox sells 5 million for the next 6 years, on tap of course pub mix just follys up the rhine.

mikeslemonade3555d ago (Edited 3555d ago )

Objectively speaking the X1 controller is better overall than the PS4 controller.

If you take your biases aside and just compare them..

And that's about it. Everything else the PS4 has more advantages.

BiggerBoss3555d ago (Edited 3555d ago )

@mikeslemonade. I disagree entirely. There is nothing "objective" about your statement. I like the triggers a lot on the Xbox one controller, but the buttons completely kill it for me. The face buttons aren't as nice as on Ds4, and the bumpers are god awful. God awful is an understatement. They're pretty much unusable IMO. The thumb sticks are subjective but I do like the xboxone thumb sticks.

LogicStomper3555d ago

@BiggerBoss

Two objective comparisons that can be made are the battery life and thumbstick material. So yes, in your opinion you dislike the xbox controller, but these two aspects can be compared objectively.

Don't forget bro...

Just because something is more popular... doesn't make it the best.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder... if the XB1 gives you the functionality you desire, then it is better... FOR YOU!

Same with the PS4.

Im not a sheep, so I won't be going along with what everyone else does because of the web PR waffle but I can only afford one console.

Hence why it's a more scrutiness decision to make

I, prefer the triggers on my Xbox One controller versus our Ps4 controller. I, also prefer the larger design, which could be a plus or minus depending upon hand size. I, hated the bumpers on my Xbox controller until I realized that they're placed in such a way that your finger never has to completely leave the trigger, it just rolls over the bumper. I definitely think the Xbox controller fits me better personally, but I think the DS4 is far and away the most improved controller.

Magicite3555d ago

ps4 wins at not being called xBONE, hahaha!

ChronoJoe3555d ago

If you flick the triggers on the PS4 controller they're so loud. It doesn't bother me either way, I find it funny at times. It's a good way to annoy others in the living room.

Bebedora3555d ago

The L2 button on my PS4 controller squeaks. I laughed when I found out about it.

@RiPPn: That was an innovative way to fix the problem. Thanks for the link.

LackTrue4K3555d ago

all that time it was my L2 TRIGGER?!?

....and here I am banging a my wall yelling @ my parents in the next room to keep them sex down!

BG115793555d ago

The ps4 controler of course, because it has a speaker!

rainslacker3555d ago (Edited 3555d ago )

I've been gaming for over 30 years, and quite honestly, the only time I ever recall hearing my controller make noise was with an arcade fighting stick. Never once have I thought to myself, OMG, that is so loud and annoying...not even with the fight stick.

On the other hand, I guess the PS4 controller is kinda loud when that speaker starts making noise.

Donnywho3555d ago

I would of guessed N64, the analog stick snaps back loud and the D-pad is loud too. The controller is so big it almost echoes.

Well you said it for me, my thoughts exactly.

Microsoft's Absurd Antics Have Me Scared For Dishonored And Arkane Lyon's Future

With Arkane Austin no more and Lyon living for who knows how long, the superb Dishonored is in serious danger; Microsoft cannot be trusted.

Relientk777h ago

I love the Dishonored series so much and really want Dishonored 3. Microsoft better not screw this up.

JEECE4h ago

I mean, I think the fans will probably kill Arkane Lyon by cooking up reasons to hate whatever they do next without playing it. I've never seen a game so artificially disliked as Deathloop.

thesoftware7304h ago

Lol, why don't we just say, we are worried about all studios owned by MS now. They will keep closing studios until they have none left ...🙄

Skuletor1h ago

Just merge them all into a single studio, have it churn out a single Call of Duty every year and call it a day, lol.

Barlos1h ago

Don't be scared, you'll be fine.

Skuletor1h ago

It's exputer, fine is one word I would not associate with them.

Profchaos1h ago

I think it's becoming clear based on matt bootys comments there's no future for any IP that can't sell above 10 million within the launch window. But is also a small game that gives them prestige

/S it's beyond a joke right now
