Demon's Souls is one of my favorite games of all time but again it's subjective.
I rank it above Ocarina of Time, which I rank below A Link to the Past, etc. I won't carry on about my other favorites(COUNTER STRIKE, GOLDEN EYE, SM64, etc., etc. etc.
It really is subjective and about the experience you have with the titles.

No, no it's not.

Boletarian Palace has more atmosphere to it than the entirety of Dark Souls. In fact the way that Demon's Souls did hub worlds made each world memorable while Dark Souls connected world, while not exactly forgettable, doesn't stack up.

Dark Souls doesn't have anything close to Maiden Astraea and Garl Vinland (though Sif is damn close)

And I'm sorry but Scraping Spear + Stormruler + Acid Cloud is the ultimate troll build. You literally cannot lose with that build. If you win, you win. If you break your opponent's gear but still die, you win.

Demon's Souls is the definitive Souls experience.

I played Demons Souls and was addictes to it! Since I loved it so much, I bought Dark Souls and I just couldn't get hooked in it. It felt like a downgrade coming from Demons Souls. I didn't even finish it. Dark Souls 2 I never played but it wasn't until Bloodborne when I felt the same way I felt the first time I played Demons Souls, awesomeness all over again!

I loved Dark Souls but I agree, Demon's Souls was the most unique gaming experience I had last gen. Bloodborne, however, is exquisite and it's easily the best game I have played this gen. For me personally, it even eclipses Demon's Souls as I prefer the Gothic/Victorian Horror theme over medieval fantasy. It's a great setting, but's it's so overdone. That's a huge reason why Bloodborne shines, the setting is extremely unique as well as the amazing weapons and bestiary.

Bloodborne is not better than Demon's Souls.

Bloodborne is far more boring than Demon's Souls is. The Chalice Dungeons are stupid, the weapons are so limited (not to mention two of the more unique weapons are so late game you can't really make a build around them unless you are planning it for New Game + which should never be a consideration, ever), the level design is bland and uninspired. The story is pathetic compared to Demon's Souls. There's very few trolling options available. Armor serves nothing but an Aesthetic purpose. Guns are situational and you have better luck just doing hit and run attacks in PVP. PVP is boring. I can go on.

Combats up to preference. Their stories are both interesting and its cool how you have to look up stuff online to fully figure them out, can't really say one is better than the other. Game design? What about the game design? I know that there's barely any armor in bloodborne, and it all looks the same. That kind of design? Or maybe how everyone has the same playstyle since thas how the game was designed?

What do you mean by level design? It's nothing noteworthy compared to the other souls games. Bloodebornes world feels like demons souls... If demons souls went from 5 worlds to just 1. In other words a big kinda open pathway, but without the option of being able to go to all the other worlds. I don't know about you but Dark Souls was constantly surprising me with how the world connected, like "WOW THAT LEADS BACK HERE". And finding a hydra in the middle of a forest? The open world just makes that more impressive.

The art design in bloodborne got tiring for me. A third of the way through I hated how the whole world looked the same. Didn't really fix that later on either. Dark souls world had the same consistency, but also a lot more variety.

Both had good bosses. Not really something to give an upper hand to. And it better be better on a technical level since its on a more powerful console.

Basically bloodeborne was a step down in so many ways to me, since a huge part of why I like the souls series is exploring the world, and bloodborne failed on that front. It's combat was pretty damn good though.

Bloodborne is an amazing Victorian/Gothic action RPG with probably the best combat in any game. The inclusion of insight was also a huge game changer, the game basically transforms right before your eyes the more you consume. The level design, plethora of secrets, amazingly designed bosses, amazing story/lore(See Father Gascoigne's family)sick weapons and unique setting all come together to deliver a game so well designed you won't see anything like it from any other dev, it's totally unique. Let's not forget the amazing co op and pvp. It sounds like to me it just didn't click with you. It' basically a Van Helsing monster hunter game, what did you expect from the art design? I'm on NG+++ with 95 insight and over 150 hours played, it's my GOTY for sure.

Bland and uninspired. The most memorable location in the game is Old Yharnam, and then only because of all the damn fires everywhere and the guy shooting at you.

Subjective. Everyone has the same playstyle because that's how the game was designed. There's almost no variation.

Pointless. It lets you see enemies you can't hurt, hampers your ability to use Beast Claws to their fullest potential, and stupidly affects rare drop rates. If it opened secret paths or offered new boss weaknesses it'd be awesome, but it doesn't. It changes some enemy attacks.

Most of which are right in front of your face. And then there's the stupidity of having no hidden doors until the later Chalice Dungeons, after you've played through the whole game with none. Why would you be looking any longer?

Most of the beast bosses are pretty much the same fight. In fact really there are only 3 noteworthy boss fights. Martyr Logarius, Yharnam Ancient (or whatever that old dude with the 2 sickle weapons is called) and Gherman the First Hunter.

Gascoigne's Family is not an amazing story at all. What would have been a better story would be the story of Gascoigne and his partner.

The weapons are the worst part of it. There are so few of them, and you have very little need to vary your attack style. Plus the scaling bonuses are stupid as most weapons are essentially quality build weapons. The Arcane stat is completely pointless too.

Why also would you allow for someone to have the ability to prevent pvp from even occurring by use of the Bell Maiden mechanic? PVP is also always the same thing. Everyone dodges around trying to get a gun hit off or do a hit and run. I've won so many PVP matches through barely any real effort.

Bloodborne is overrated.

Compare dark souls to something like super Mario brothers 3 or ocarina of time... Almost everyone likes Mario 3 even if they don't play many games. To me the greatest game of all time would have to be something loved by everyone, dark souls isn't that game. Personally I love dark souls and it's one of my favorite games of all time because I'm part of the audience for it.
My personal pick for best game of all time is world of Warcraft, nothing else has ever had the impact that it has or 12 million + subscribers at a time.
