gamrReview's Jake Weston: "The Alien film franchise is back in the news, thanks to the recent announcement that District 9 and Elysium writer/director Neil Blomkamp will be reinvigorating the series with his own take on it.
For many, this is the best news to happen to Alien in nearly 30 years. For some of us, however, this is the best news to happen to Alien since last October, when Alien: Isolation came out and impressed everyone with its adherence to the original 1979 Alien and its terrifying yet satisfying survival horror gameplay. So, with all eyes on Alien at the moment, let’s take this time talk about what Alien: Isolation did right, and where things should go for a prospective sequel."
If you've got an Alien itch you can't quite scratch until Alien: Rolumus releases, GameSpew has rounded up the best Alien games to tide you over.
Fans (myself included) are clamouring for a direct sequel to this fantastic game and hope for an Alien: Isolation 2. But will this great game ever get another instalment?
Also included are Alien: Isolation, Dead Island Definitive Edition, Outlast 2, and more.
Good month imo. I'll play Gotham Knights and House of Ashes. I'm finishing up Disco E on Steam right now - that's a superb game.
Alien Queen, nest/eggs (from Aliens)
Don't expect to see another Alien game from Creative Assembly because SEGA no longer has the rights to the Alien franchise.
I got one "Thing" to say to J. Weston at gamrReview, how bout shutting the hell up and stop being an damn ARMCHAIR games developer.
So Tired of reading gamer bloggers telling REAL devs how to design games.
Predator
Probably going to get thumbed down, but I think it needs to keep the single player integrity (Alien Isolation) while also adding a multiplayer mode.
A multiplayer mode structured like Evolve would be ideal. Though, Evolve sucks, I feel like 4v1 hunting an alien in the darkness of a space ship while also being hunted yourselves would be so entertaining.
Or even a 4v1 and the "1" is AI controlled and just 4 player co-op.
EDIT: Just a quick google search and it seems that Colonial Marines may have been structured like this.
