One other minor thing is...why is the title screen literally just white with either an AT-AT or R2D2 and C3PO? Really couldn't have had a cool battle playing in the background? Again, really minor but kind of just shows how shallow the game is.

His Halo 5 review was hot trash. Spent more time complaining about the lack of split screen and superfluous micro transactions then the actual content of the game. He barley touched the surface of just how deep and great the multiplayer is. It's kind of a problem when you spend more time talking about the tacked on micro transactions in war zone then war zone itself. His Halo 5 and Arkham Knight reviews were pretty poor imo, he focuses to much on his pet peeves and lets them cloud the positives of the game.

Halo 5 not having split screen, and having by far the shortest campaign. Is a fail. I don't mind the microtransations, cause the maps will be free. Halo 5 arena MP is like a 9.5. The rest of it is just ok. Most of angry joes reviews are spot on.

The worst part is not even the lack of content or the hoards of DLC that are planned. IMO the worst thing is they have a sequel planned too. probably landing just before the next movie (in 2 years?). So they will effectively abandon this game no matter how much cash you pump into it with all the DLC and expect you to move on to EA Battlefront II. It doesn't give you much of an incentive to invest.

Where you and revvi are wrong is that you think he is angry all the time. He's given good and 10/10 scores to games, and he has been very calmed. Or, do you think he gives low scores for clicks? Why would he give good scores for then? Clicks as well? Damn son!

He does a pretty good job reviewing games. He would go in depth about everything, MTs included, which is something IGN or other stupid gaming outlest don't do.

I'm having fun with the game, and feel that I've got value for money. Angry Joe thinks he is bigger than the industry, bigger than Nintendo, bigger than Capcom. The people who swear it's good are either die hard Star Wars fans who will eventually realise in a few months that it's not as good as they first thought, while the others are probably those who never played/liked the other Battlefront games and don't realise what it's supposed to live up to. The Star Wars aspect of the whole game and the amount of detail and gameplay mechanics they have in this game makes it one of the better shooters this year. (Way better than the rehashed COD). Besides no campaign, no other shooter this gen has THAT much immersion into the gameplay environment. You have to give it that.

Waste $60? So if you buy this game and get a solid 15hrs over a couple of weeks...that's an easy $4 per hour of entertainment! Doesn't sound like a waste to me! Especially when movies are $10+ for two hours. So if someone buys this game expecting a campaign...well that's their own damn fault(:

Can you elaborate on your "amount of gameplay mechanics" comment please, because in my opinion this game doesn't offer anything excitingly different from anything else on the market at this time.
It's visuals and sound design are its saving grace and it truly feels like a great, authentic Star Wars experience, but the game is lacking in content and there's no doubt about it.
Fans of the universe will surely get more out of the game than others, and for those looking for something fun and easy to play, Battlefront isn't a bad choice but there are other games that provide allot more than DICE and EA's lacklustre offering.
As for me, I bought this game pre-owned and I don't regret my purchase, but after a few days of gameplay I have done nearly everything the game offers in its current state and I have no intention to delve deeper into its mediocrity any time soon.

Nah you're not the only one. Generally the most vocal on a topic are the ones who hate things because everyone else is off enjoying their games.
I think battlefront is a good fun game. I wouldn't play it as my main game and I don't think it was worth the full price, which is why I traded in and paid 30 euro for it. It's quite addicting trying to level up to the next rank to buy things and God knows ima be filling up that whole diorama xD

I like the game also but I'm fully aware of how much better it could have been, really needed more effort put into the single player portions of the game, and some of the multiplayer game modes just feel so basic, droid run and fighter squadron are ok but could have been SO much better. Not to mention the obvious feeling of lack of content.

I really like the cargo, walker assault and supremacy game modes though. I can play the game for a couple of hours but its certainly not a game you can binge on for hours on end, there just isn't enough depth in there for those kinds of lengthy sessions.

I enjoyed the heck of the beta, i didn't care that i played the same map 10xs. I loved the mode where you had to secure the pods. I don't know about you guys but iv'e been enjoying playing League of Legends, and i highly recommend it to people who are tired of shooters or console type games in general. Lucky for the people on xb1 they have Smite, which is probably in the top 5 of MOBA's out there.

I got the game on Saturday and I agree with Joe on many points. Whilst I have had fun the game does feel a bit casual! It wouldve been so much better if it was a Battlefield reskin!I would have given the game a solid 7 but there is so little content it gets a 6 from me. Though free DLC is dropping soon, so that at least is something. I chose this instead of Call of Duty :|

I really don't get all the hate on this game. I bought this game and have been having so much fun. I decided to red box both the new COD and this and decide off those experience which one I would buy and I chose Star wars because it is something different. I am tired of buying COD every year when there are only slight differences every year. The only thing I liked on Black Ops 3 was the zombies and that can get old after a while. The multiplayer seemed to me like a re-skinned Advanced warfare. I never play the campaigns on Cod so that doesn't bother me that Star Wars doesn't have one. In my opinion this game is better than Black Ops 3. Maybe not as much content but you can only play so much Cod every year before it gets old. Yet every COD gets 9 and above on review sites even when it's the same game over and over. It is something different and I enjoy it. Am I the only one??? Smh I don't get it.

It nails the Star Wars universe perfectly, if you think the game is shallow what do you think about the movies? Star wars is all about Blasters and Sabers for combat, with Ship battles. How much deeper can we go, I mean seriously?

The blasters are not instantaneous hits like so many other shooters such as call of duty. You miss a whole bunch, you have to lead your shots. Here the the kicker about this, it's just like Star Wars! Ever seen the movie? Well everyone is blasting all over the place... many people are missing shots, it's chaotic and great.
Gameplay is the combat to me. This isn't Uncharted or Tomb Raider, we do not have platform or puzzle aspect...

I'm not a fan boy, I just think a game that gets a 5/10 is trash, this is far from trash.

Forget all the review points, the game runs well. I've only had one issue with it and that was on walker assault the very first day it came out, one time. I've not had another problem. So many other games come out buggy messes, this actually works and works well.

The technical aspect alone keeps it from being a subpar game.

I know i'm not going to change anyone's mind about this game, I'm just putting my opinion out here like everyone else does.

You seem to be OK with it just being an OK arcade style shooter with a star wars theme, and for a title this big OK isn't good enough. This is the most dumbed down and repetitive shooter I've ever played and that's even with games like COD out there. To top it off there's literally only two modes that seem to be worth a damn, so in essence I already played half the game at beta! LoL

It's obvious this game was planned as a tie-in with the movies for some time and that coupled with EA likely resulted in the mediocre game we have now. The fact that people are OK with it and going out of their way to defend it like they are some personal PR for the game and seemingly oblivious as to the games faults is just proof of why these practices exist in the first place.

Look the game does need more content and the season pass is too pricey at the moment. That said I find myself in awe of how they have nailed the starwars universe every time I play. The detail in this game is amazing. Is it the best shooter around? No but I am having a lot of fun with it and a 5 out of 10 is a stupid score from angry twat. A 7 to 8 would be fairer.

I hate season passes, I think the only way I'll get it is if my brothers buy it. I'm fine with the main game, I'm not playing it's 24/7. I've got like 9 hours into multiplayer so far, level 19.

It's fun. If we are having fun that's all that counts.

I'd give a nice 7/7.5 out of 10. It's a fun game to play but I can see it getting old quick if one were to play it as their main game (well I would anyway).

The feeling of actually being in the star wars universe is simply quite amazing and the sound effects lend themselves to immerse you even further. I love being in for forests on endor in a secluded area and you can hear people shouting and gun shots off in the distance. The atmosphere is just spot on.

The game play is great too. What I like about is that it is extremely accessible to anyone who is not a super shooter fan. It's easy to get used to and they give you some decent enough weapons to start of with (like really good imo. I didn't have another favourite weapon since the starting weapons until I unlocked the T-21). But there is also a learning curve if you want to master the battlefield.

The heroes and villains are cool and bobofet rocks everyones socks!

Supremacy is a great mode because you can turn things around right at the last second before the enemy team captures your last base and push that back.

I really like this game so far after 27 games. Here's to more awesome content! :D

Nope. I don't care whether a reviewer gives a game I like a bad review but having reviewers like this with huge followings is quite a new culture in gaming and is absolutely ruining it completely. People are actively destroying the things they love and don't even realise it. Games are getting worse and even more shortcuts and cuts are made and this is why. Because whether a game is a masterpiece with hours of hard work or a mediocre game just boshed out there are always boring fuckers not giving the praise they deserve. And people listen to these boring fuckers. So why should developers try harder? Sales will be pretty much the same and you can cut the cost in making it by so much.

Bungie could have brought halo out last year without warzone. Sales would be less but they'd save a lot of money and could already start boshing out the next game. Frostbite was already good looking enough, people would buy battlefront whether it looked ok or absolutely stunning. Why should they try harder? His Halo 5 review was trash, so no reason to believe this review 100%.
He said the Halo 5 game was only 4 hours long, but it took me about 7 hours and according to a lot of users it was 7 and half hours. My source is the website howlongtobeat (can't post links yet) and myself included. So I looked through his play though and wonder why it was faster for him. Guess what, he didn't beat the game. Joe and his FRIENDS (2 of them) beat the game on normal mode. Very unprofessional to say the least. At least beat the game by yourself before commenting on the length of the game. Then he said playing it on higher difficulty will only give you 3 hours of extra play time. He didn't even play the game on a higher difficulty and if he did he would know legendary will take him more than twice as long. This is without collecting intel or skulls.

While I agree that reviewers should play SP campaign till the end and MP extensively before posting a review, but playing on Normal is perfectly fine unless the game doesn't have difficulty settings to begin with. You can't claim a game is long just because you died repeatedly on the hardest difficulty. That's just lazy game design. And let me tell you this, if a game last a mere 7 hours even on the hardest difficulty, it is SHORT!

And games shouldn't be reviewed by only its MP eventhough its campaign is lackluster. That's just wrong unless it's a MP game only like this.

100% agree. Playing on normal is fine by me but yes, at least finish the whole thing and don't give really high scores even though half the game is bad. I think a lot of reviewers just give high scores because it's a big name these days.

The 7 1/2 hours was referring to normal mode. And you missed the part that AJ didn't even beat the game by himself. He beat it with 2 other people on normal mode. This is also without collecting anything. He also said the game was going to add only 3 extra hours if you beat it on a higher difficulty which is something he shouldn't say because legendary alone will make the game twice as long.

You also missed the point where he stated that the AI in Halo 5 is stupid and always make playing alone frustrating! That was why he played with his friends. What's wrong with that? I would be pissed too if an AI right next to you doesn't even try to revive you and is too stupid to drive! Joe included these parts too in his Halo 5 review. Maybe watch it first before judging next time?

And collectibles are also a way devs use to prolong their games and playing the game normally for the 1st time, you are bound to miss many of them but still doesn't change the fact that he finished the game playing coop with his friends on NORMAL under 5 hours and they were not on speedrun! I'll say this again, using higher difficulty to justify the lenght of a game is just a way to encourage lazy game designs! The game is short, deal with it!

The new Battlefront may not live up to the standard of its predecessors but it definitely one of the best looking games this generation thus far and they have captured the atmosphere beautifully.

Knowing EA is always in it for profit over releasing quality products, I shall not have mega high expectations for their future Star Wars releases. With that being said, this is not to say I won't give them a chance though.

Agreed with PreAtaric. Garrett, you have dropped the judgemental hammer on my head. Crysis 1 may have a huge game with insane graphics fidelity and a short campaign mode.

I really liked playing Crysis 1 and gameplay is certainly not medicore.

Battlefronts 1 and 2 have had certain standad i.e campaign mode, conquest mode, online multi-player, naming but a few.

Then comes Dice's Battlefront, None of what's mentioned above is there apart from Online multiplayer and a subpar single player elements. I do not know if that is the way is intended or EA told DICE, hold the good stuff behind a DLC paywall.

Got through half of is fallout 4 review, couldn't take anymore. Yeah, he goes into detail, but the cheesy effects and clips of him sitting there playing the game are boring. He also seemed to have a garbage PC, which is something i find hard to believe for the amount of subs he has. And he played with a controller on a pc, that's pretty scrubbish.

Well I didn't read any reviews or nothing before I got the game i just got it because I enjoyed the beta.But after a week and a half or so of playing it I'm bored of it already it's nice looking and all but not a lot of content in it maybe they'll add later as dlc.I can only play it for a little while then get bored of it.Iv had bf4 from release november 2013 and I still love it 440 hrs in lol so this weekend I'll be trading it in after paying 50 quid for it.

As a big Star Wars fan I was pumped when they started talking about this game. The more I heard the more eh I got. The beta was all I needed. It just wasn't fun, especially with the lack of content. With my limited gaming time it's hard to put something like this before Fallout 4.

Review seems pretty spot on. Seems like ea have shoehorned every despicable practice they could get away with hiding behind a glossy Star Wars paint job. All style with no substance. Glad I went with Fallout 4, its almost the polar opposite to battlefront. Not the prettiest gal at the party but more fun than a box of monkeys. Theres probably more content in the first couple of hours of Fallout than the whole of battlefront tbh. 30 plus hours in and I still feel like I haven't even scratched the surface.
