Star Wars Battlefront's Lead Level Designer On Platform Excellence & More

Yesterday some commotion erupted after an alleged insider tweeted about PC being the lead platform for Battlefront. In a series of tweets lead level designer Dennis Brännvall replies to some questions regarding the quality on platforms and explains that Friday will be the day that fans will know on what platform the upcoming trailer is shown off.

Dice have yet to make a shitty game so I have faith that they will do this game justice.

People love to give bf4 hell but it's better than a lot of games. Especially cod.

When battlefield launched is was broken. I waited until last week to pick it up and it still not a 100% fixed with the glaring problem being textures take too long to load (so when you redeploy it looks like an old PS1 game). They also ignored the single player bugs (which is also so idiotic and hard to follow it is one of the worst shooter campaigns have ever played).

Also, like COD, the entire unlock system is anti productive. You progress by unlocking weapons that end up being worse than the weapon you have (it is so stupid). The class are also messed up (assault is too useful) and the vehicles are so over powered that the vast majority of plays need to hit the vehicle 4 times with an anti tank weapon (BFBC2 got that right).

BF3 was no picnic either. Look the recent battlefield have not been that good. This isn't me saying others do it better but DICE really need to rethink how the approach FPS

Look at your disagrees clearly people didnt experience what you did.

I had no issues with BF4 or BF3 for that matter, I was able to play on day 1 and everyday since with no bugs or crashes. I played on PC, so it surprises me that people say it was broken at launch cause I know i certainly wasnt playing alone on all those maps and rounds i was playin so there was definitely alot of people able to play just as much as I was.

It sounds to me as though you just don't like shooters maybe you should stay away from em. Battlefield is the best multiplayer military shooter i dont see anything topping it anytime soon.

DICE is the best dev for Battlefront. I couldnt recommend anyone else.

Although I can agree with you on a gameplay perspective, I have to disagree with what you are saying regarding the technical side being just fine.

BF4 in particular launched with a giant mess of bugs and problems. I love their games and how they play, but the tech record for battlefield has always been a touch spotty, and it has only become worse with the development of Frostbite with BF3 and 4. BF4 was barely playable for me on PC at launch.

That said, I'm hoping most of it's just growing pains from the new engine and the fact that last gen they launched on every single system available. I really enjoy the games DICE develops and I'm really looking forward to see what they can do with battlefront.

Also, Superman, Although I agree with your comments regarding the technical issues, I disagree with some of your game play comments. Sure, not all the unlocks are the best, but I would disagree that the starter guns were always the preferred weapon. Most of my buddies all used a variety of different loudouts. Also, i wouldn't say Assault is not useful, but how do you expect to win a game with just assaults? You always need some engineers (which some would argue is the better class to stack with) and support guys keep the anti tank guys loaded with what they need, etc etc.

True I don't see them aiming for parity. I expect minimal differences between the console versions.

Yeah, but I see no reason for internet meltdown unless it's Xbox One that they showed. It's obvious PC just limited with your money and PS4 everyone knows what to expect.

I believe this game will be shown off on Xbox One come Friday.

Note on any platform it is shown off on I am sure gamers can't wait to get a taste of next gen Battlefront.

PC is going to be lead platform PS4 next likely because of resolution and then x box 1.

If the game has lots of NPC's the x box 1 may be better?

Not too bothered either way i decided to get it for x box 1 i prefer to play it with friends on x box live. I prefer using a controller for shooters.

For single player games like Witcher 3 I will buy the PC version.
