...the more you realize that fanboys have the ability to censor articles they don't like. If they don't agree with it, there will be plenty of people to report it.
If they do agree with it, it'll get on the main page faster than you can say "Halo 3 delayed."
If Take-Two had told their shareholders that GTAIV, their biggest cash crop, wasn't releasing until well after the 2007 holiday season, shareholders would start selling stock. This, alongside such bad news, would not only lower the price of their stock, but also drive away potential stockholders.
If Take-Two had told their shareholders that GTAIV, their biggest cash crop, was set to release on multiple platforms during the highest point of the 2007 holiday season, shareholders...
Microsoft sorta sounds like the American government's stand on climate change: "we'll only do our part if you follow our rules." Like I said in the article, it could very well be that Microsoft really doesn't wanna deal with some of the legal ramifications of unmoderated content over their system, but business sense would tell you to grab all the money you can, especially if there's no real competition for your service.
"Charge people for stuff that should be...
... and Mark Rein pointed the same thing out. While Epic isn't gonna have to work as hard to get mods and bonus content to PS3/PC owners, Microsoft isn't gonna turn down an invitation to that party.
...but Unreal Tournament is well-known for it's complete mods, which require much more than just a simple map editor. M$ is locked tight when it comes to stuff like that, and Epic is gonna have to jump through some hoops to get 360 owners those mods.
Are you talking about Sony or Epic or M$?
If M$ is willing to open their doors a bit more, gamers everywhere will benefit. This is the beauty of competition.
But Sony is doomed, remember? The PSP is a failure, as is the PS3, so there's no way that they can be doing just fine as a hardware company! Forget the fact that the PS2 is still selling remarkably well, and will likely do so well into the holiday season.../sarcasm
It might seem obvious to the less sheepish gamers, but its not bad to be reminded periodically that Sony's game division has been sporting profits since the PS3 release, due completely to the success of the PS2.
...you're alone in that one, bud. Both games look phenomenal.
If EA starts favoring the 360, at least we'll have someone to blame ;)
Price, games, and worthwhile features are the three things that have been holding Sony back. At E3, they squashed all of those (well, at least two of those, since the price cut was a bit misleading), and that's exactly what the article explains.
PR is the biggest thing holding the PS3 back, and Sony did an excellent job of showing the media (and therefore the public) what is in store for the near future.
This wasn't an isolated fanboy rant. MyArcadePlanet.com is running a series of three articles devoted to each console, and while this author concentrated on the PS3, there's already another article on why the 360 will win this holiday season.
I agree with you (that no amount of fanboyism will change the fact that all gamers will be having a great holiday) but it's nice to see everything packed into one place.
My guess is their new console will be out in about three years, at which time they'll drop support on the 360 to concentrate on their new horse.
...this was a statement by Sony, otherwise you'd look like a complete idiot!
are your friend.
Blu ray is new, not foreign. People know how to use a disk, regardless of what type of compression or how high (or low) the bitrate is. People also know how to download (not the majority, but many do) and they also know how inconsistent they can be: data corruption, download errors, etc. What Apple has done is a step forward, but digital distribution will not be the big thing for quite some time, not until those getting into their 20s start having kids.
...you honestly believe that people still use the PS2 as a DVD player. Hell, no one really did that when the PS2 was the ONLY cheap DVD player out there. Games like GoW don't sell more than 2 million because the casual gamer doesn't like games like that. End of story. The vast (and I do mean vast, well above 90%) of the PS2 owners are those who play a few hours a week at most.
Those are the sort of people who bought it just to play Guitar Hero at parties, or, better yet, be...
...he skipped past the info you can get in every other preview and talked about how it might be received. If you wanna know how the controls feel, do a Google and you'll find out ;)
...without Windows to keep the revenue in the green? The Xbox franchise isn't enough to support that whole company, and neither is Office. If Windows goes open-source, I'll eat my hat while I watch my MSFT stocks plummet.
...on posting the most pointless and blatantly arrogant comments on this article. Was there even a point to your rant?
