"However, there are games that while they were good when they released, like Final Fantasy 7 and Super Mario 64, have aged really poorly and are not as good today but there are people out there who will go to the moon and back swearing they are perfect games that nothing can beat and may as well be the only games on Earth. This second group of people are blinded by nostalgia."
No you're not. You're claiming that Square originally wanted FF to be an ARPG. We KNOW that's not true, because if it was true, FF WOULD HAVE BEEN AN ARPG. You even agree:
"Since the beginning of Japanese made Role Playing Games there have been Action based JRPGs"
You simultaneously agree and disagree about the exact same thing...good job...
I never claimed Final Fantasy was a genre. You know what ELSE isn't a ge...

"I don't care if you're a programmer. That hasn't helped you to see the clearly evident."
It has, and that's the point. You're speaking out of ignorance, and that's not an insult. You're literally telling a programmer that you know programming better than him.
Also, I'm perfectly willing to accept changes. What I'm unwilling to accept is genre changes.
I think it goes without saying that when someone claims a game is "the greatest of all time" they're simply stating their opinion. Now, if they claim it's fact, then they're just being a d'bag.
Why is there something wrong with that? Opinions. You think games have become more fun over the last decade. I think the last decade is the worst the gaming industry has ever seen.
The vast majority of it comes down to what type of games you like, and what is being made. There is no such thing as right or wrong, when someone says something is the "greatest game of all time".
You're not going to win this battle. Not only did I personally experience games as early as the 80's, I'm also a programmer.
"Technical limitations" is nothing more than an excuse that ARPG fans use in order to make other opinions seem "illegitimate". It's about as immature as can be.
You are the embodiment of a logical fallacy. You want me to show a AAA turn-based RPG that sold well, without being able to point to the only AAA turn-based series (outside of the Microsoft games). Yeah, ok.
How about this: point to an FPS on a handheld that sold millions of copies.
To quickly shoot down the ridiculous bs you're spouting:
Blue Dragon was NOT AAA. And, you know exactly why neither of those sold millions. I don't know why you're pretending otherwise. Lost Odyssey sold 900k ON A CONSOLE WITHOUT A JRPG FANBASE! THAT'S FREAKING IMPRESSIVE!
You can keep spouting out this ignorant bs as much as you want. Final Fantasy was a huge financial success for one reason: it was AAA. You can't ignore it. Well, YOU can, and YOU will, because you're ignorant.
