also, about the bandwidth issue. It may be an untapped resource now, but fiber is on the rise and the demand is high for it. New Hard drive technologies are slowly gaining steam. Bush will be out of the white house soon, we're looking at the 2nd Digital revolution. My point is, that until these technologies establish themselves, the PS3 will have a technology it can't use. I mean they don't call it the "broadband engine" for no reason. It would be awesome if we got into a game, a...

If the 360 got in, it would get pwned by the PS3, I don't mean to sound like a fanboy, but it would not be a smart marketing move for Microsoft to join competitors in something they are clearly superior in thanks to the Cell and its billion dollar research paying off like this.

Hopefully games get to use this beast in the long run, I give it 3 years before we start seeing a marked difference in graphics from current PS3 games.

dude. I want a ps3.

But I can't yet. I'm saving for an HDTV. Hopefully I'll have both by the end of the year.

On the price thing, PS3 is a better value to me, the games will come in time. Also I haven't heard a single complaint of it breaking, unlike when 360 launched. Gosh you should take 20% off their Sold number on that alone. ;P

100 bucks says they release yet another SKU with built in everything in 3 years and say we're so stinkin innovative

The idea is that technologies are being downplayed as useless and then integrated anyway. In other words, they use new technology to sling mud and then they make a mud pie and eat it.

For example, the 360 doesn't have WiFi, they give you the option to buy $99 WiFi adapter, where as the PS3 has it built in. (600 model)

It's good for some people to have "options" but don't keep spitting that garbage that the PS3 is overpriced because its definitely not w...

"Xbox live along with video market place for HD movies, an option for an HD DVD drive. Rumble support for all of your games. All at a low price."

"All for a low price", negatory my blogfellow, add it all up and you pretty much have a PS3 with a 20GB hard drive. (I'm assuming you have a premium 360)

"All at the highest price point in history" yes, and we all know it, and casual gamers won't go for it. Yup, so its cool for everybody ...

Yes its not currently robust, but they're showing that they are going to compete with Microsoft, and I agree with DJ this time, games will come and all they need to knock out is a unified service and I think we'll get it since all we do is clamor about it on every other thread.

true, i see your point, but Sony doesn't need these retailers I think, they can give their stock to someone else, and have those retailers watch as other stores become more popular than it by stocking the ps3. So it could work the other way around, i guess it depends how big these retailers are, for example, Gamestop is sticking to the plan, because they're big and respectable merchant, but heck why do we care!!!

there.. bye.

Xbox was not hot when it came out, there were disappointments throughout the industry, Sony has a vast amount of support from 3rd party developers. If BluRay wins, Sony wins big and why shouldn't they when they've invested Billions of Dollars into these technologies. So it bothers you that they're using the PS3 to accomplish this, AWW. You need a hanky?

The games will come. The people will come. There are a lot of people like me who aren't buying a PS3... yet. But when tha...

Sony has chosen the 23rd for a reason and agreed to supply the retailers and has asked that retailers to follow guidelines, they didnt and its just simply bad business ethics, even though nothing may "wrong"

"[But if you don't own a 360] or a high-end gaming PC, I have this piece of advice for you: Run -- do not walk, run -- to your local game retailer and buy this game." [Oblivion on 360] is, to be honest, one of my favorite games of all time."

Wow.

This is just a 360 fanboy doing a review on a PS3 game.

I like the idea of home, lets just hope that it doesnt take for ever to load between every game, i know that when we're with one battle, we're off to the next, i'm sure there will be a way to continue a new game without returning to home... thats obvious. it would be silly for them to develop a complex world and forsake such a simple usability feature.

I agree with those who say "hey i just want to play a game" but you know its going to be viral. People are going to say hey come to my apartment on Home and you'll say "sure why not" and its going to have 50inch plasma and its going to have streaming Naruto playing and pictures of Dwight Schrute on the walls and you're gonna say, "@#$ this is freaking cool" and you're gonna spend 16 hours designing your pad.

And you know, you dont need to meet f...

"It would have being interesting to see how things would be if Microsoft would include an HD-DVD drive into the 360."

It was too big of a risk for Microsoft. They made the right choice though. I would have liked to see an HD Drive in there though.

For sony the risks are worth putting everything on the line for, it will pay off in the next few years.
