So I Bought A Wii U

A certain unnamed writer decided to buy a Wii U and has since decided to tell all in this very article. Life is hard when you're a slave to consumerism.

LOL another doubter, that bought one and is now happy! GOOD!!

Seriously, people need to get their hands on the system to appreciate how great it is.

for me it's Nintendos best since SNES and 64

FlyingFoxy4130d ago

I played NintendoLand for a bit and found it quite fun, though i haven't tried the multiplayer parts of it yet which are apparently much better.

really though the success of the system will be determined by if it can run next gen engines or not.

MasterCornholio4130d ago

I tried the tablet controller out at gamestop but I didn't really like it. I haven't tried the classic controller yet but since its a clone of the 360 it should be pretty comfortable to use.

I LOVE MINE. ALL the multiplats that were announced I skipped buying on PS3 and 360 and I saved up £600 for my Wiiu since it was unveiled in 2011.

So far I've bought (prepare to be impressed) , I will leave an honest review score for each game.
ZombiU deluxe bundle
Zombiu - 8
NSMBU - 9
Nintendo Land - 8.5
Ninja Gaiden 3 Razors EDGE - 7.8
Assassins creed 3 - 8.5
Darksiders 2 - 8.0
Blops 2 - 8.5
Batman Arkhum city (already played that but hey..)- 8.5
Sonic Racing - 7.0
Tekken tag 2 - 7.5
Mass effect 3 special edition (already played , but hey ) 8.0
Trine 2 directors cut - 9.0
Nano assault Neo - 8.0
Mighty switchforce Hyper drive edition. - 8.5

i saved up for along time to have my ''Wiiu blow out'' and it's been amazing. I really like every single game I have bought. It's an amazing console and it's litteraly worth owning JUST to play games whilst watching TV. Then you have Miiverse which even the crudest of Sony fans would enjoy.

Wiiu is potentialy one of my favorite consoles ever. Just need some Pikmin , Monster Hunter , Zelda , Mario etc to get the ball rolling.

I've sold AC3 , Tekken Tag 2 , Batman and Sonic racing now too...

Murad4130d ago

I was thinking of buying it originally, but decided against that because of how expensive it was.

"Wiiu is potentialy one of my favorite consoles ever"

Very bold statement there. I think the Wii U is very good and I haven't bought one yet. I will buy it sometime but to me it's not worth it because I'm about the exclusives most of the time. Wii U has a few of them I like but not many yet, E3 might change that.

"JUST to play games whilst watching TV"
Ever heard of the Vita & 3DS?

konnerbllb4130d ago

They don't always get "full" console games.

FlyingFoxy4130d ago

Vita has some great games and 3DS as well, some of them are pretty much like "Full" console games.. others may be a bit shorter but they are practically the same, no idea what you are talking about.

evilbart4130d ago

Trust me I had a Vita and traded it for a WiiU and playing on the WiiU gamepad is far better than the Vita

girevik4129d ago

I also sold my Vita to put toward my Wii U and I don't regret it. not that I didn't like the Vita, I just never used it. I can play games on the GamePad, have a fully functional browser and I use it everyday.

I got a Wii U for Christmas. I have enjoyed it, but honestly, there isn't much to play on it...and there don't seem to be many games coming out for it. My PS3 gets all the attention while my Wii U is my new Netflix box. EDF2017 came out on Vita last week. DMC came out on PS3 this week. Ni No Kuni is next week. That Wii U doesn't get much use outside of Wii Fit and Wario Ware: Smooth Moves. I already played through Scribblenauts: Unlimited (VERY fun), ZombiU (Totally underrated), and NSMBU (eh... Same ol' stuff). Now what? I'm TONS of games behind on my PS3 and Vita because of PS Plus, yet...the Wii U can't seem to get a good demo on the store? Seriously?

Come on, Nintendo.

Add me on Wii U. (JacobIsHollywood) I NEEEEEED to get more social on that thing. I love the Miiverse.

hazardman4130d ago

That's why I haven't invested in a WiiU yet. It has nothing I want to play at the moment. I'm hoping something good comes out soon tho...

Zelda Replay: Majora's Mask

VGChartz's Evan Norris: "Is Ocarina of Time as legendary as I remembered it? For the most part, yes. In spite of a handful of missteps — a few obtuse puzzles, some tedious backtracking, and a clunky stealth sequence — I don't believe the last 23 years have been unkind to it. Ocarina remains a brilliant example of the medium, a landmark game that shaped the future of its own franchise and 3D gaming in general. After more than two decades it retains its inventive dungeon design, challenging puzzles, dynamic combat, wistful storyline, unforgettable music, and empowering open-air freedom. I feel confident calling it one of the greatest games of the fifth generation, even if I'm no longer prepared to list it among the five best games ever made."

Pure unadulterated fun. They don't make them like this anymore...especially not the triple A industry.

FinalFantasyFanatic11d ago

Back when video rental was a thing, I rented out Majoria's Mask, I never finished it though. I did buy the 3DS version before the eshop shutdown, so maybe one day I'll finally play through the whole thing, it's amazing how well these games hold up though. I briefly played Ocarina of Time for a while and it was really fun.

Wii U games that still haven't been ported to Switch

The Nintendo Switch is potentially nearing its lifespan, and several Wii U games haven't found their way over as ports yet.

I think it's better to leave games like AC: Amiibo Festival and Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash forgotten on the Wii U. Best case, they are mediocre games; worse case, they are very bad. It was a dark time for the Wii U, and the first only exists to sell Amiibo cards, whereas the second was put together in a couple of months with a shoestring budget, and it shows.

The rest of the list does have some really cool games, though. I would love to see a remake of Star Fox Zero with decent controls, and Xenoblade X doesn't require that much modification to work.

How would XCX work without dual screens functionality?

Cacabunga18d ago

Same as Paper Mario color splash. One of the best wiiu games and getting even better with dual screen. Same reason why i prefer Splatoon 1

Profchaos18d ago

This article leaves out Nintendo's most controversial game to date devils Third.
I personally found the cover system really fun in that one compared to at the time most fps games completely lacking one.

Stevonidas18d ago

Devil's Third is HIGHLY underrated.

repsahj18d ago

They should remake Starfox to the switch 2. Very beautiful game during gamecube days.

Chocoburger18d ago

Kirby is always ignored or forgotten by people, so good to see it mentioned here.
Play Kirby Canvas Curse on DS, and then play Rainbow Curse on Wii U, they're really fun and unique 'platformers' without any actual jumping.

Nintendo's Massacre Of The 3DS And Wii U Is Finally Complete, Regrettably

Hanzala from eXputer: "The cruel hammer of Nintendo has fallen. Farewell, 3DS and Wii U, you surely brightened my life and many others; you won't be forgotten."
