Gaming Groups, and why we need more of them

Brett writes - "So let’s face it. Other countries seem to have a lot of games that we here in the States tend to want. Sometimes games have content or endings that we want (or don’t want). Now that we have all these silly means of social media, they inspire dedicated fans to come together for the same cause of bringing something they love to America (or anywhere else, really).

While one of the most recent cases was the whole controversy surrounding Mass Effect 3‘s ending, it brought fans together whether you agreed with it or not. You can’t deny it got a response out of Bioware and the designers. Some had really negative things to say about how people should stop trying to be the designers. Great idea. Although gamers are not necessarily the best when it comes to directing the direction of game design in the industry (look at how that shameless re-hashed Piece of trash COD is the top selling game -_-), but I definitely think it's good to unite against shady companies like EA, capcom, and Activision. Also, standing up against games that short-change long-time fans (like mass effects crap ending) is a good idea for gamers everywhere. It would be something like a worker's union--but for gamers/paying consumers.
